Weirdly Meta Seasonal Humor, and a Happy New Year

Fly Hard is not your favorite Hearth’s Warming story.”

Rainbow Dash blinked. “Uh, yeah it is.”

As impurturbably as before, Twilight repeated herself. “Fly Hard is not your favorite Hearth’s Warming story.”

Tomorrow's a Snow Day, That Must Mean It's Time for Santa Hats

We're scheduled for up to 17 inches of snow in the next 48 hours! If that's not enough to get us white through to Christmas, then I don't know what is. Pray for my poor, aching back; I'll be shoveling all night long.

OMPR and the Wrongest Person in the World (it's Present Perfect)

Just a short blast from the One Man's Pony Ramblings past this time. See, back when I was doing reviews on my review blog but when I wasn't doing reviews on my review blog, sometimes I'd talk about whatever the newest episode had brought us. Not reviews of them, per se, but more just, "here's some stuff I thought about while watching the latest installment of pony." That, and posting

Quiz Time! A Thing You Might Not Remember About OMPR

...Well, first of all, you might not remember that OMPR is/was One Man's Pony Ramblings, the mostly-fanfic-review-and-sometimes-other-stuff blog I ran for a long time.  I mean, plenty of you probably do remember it, but it's been *checks notes* jeez, over three years, closer to four, since I stopped?  Man, time flies.

Review Roundup: May 22nd - June 30th · 12:11am Jul 3rd, 2017

It's Tour de France time! That magical month when I get up early every morning, even though I don't have to go to work. Thank goodness I don't live on the west coast; I don't think I could handle getting up at 5:00 AM (earlier, on mountain stages!) day after day without even the promise of a paycheck to reward me for it.

It's a bittersweet Tour for me, too, because Thomas Voeckler has already announced that it'll be his last. His first Tour, in 2004, was also the first one I watched, and his gutsy ten-day defence of the yellow jersey was absolutely compelling. I fell in love with his humble cheekiness, and have rooted for him ever since. The race won't be the same without him, and his bevy of ridiculous expressions.

But for these next few weeks, at least, he's still here, and I intend to enjoy his presence while I can. Catch a few stages of the Tour if you're up in the mornings (American-time), and if you need something to read while checking out the cycling, try some of these reviews from the past month on for size:

Somehow, I just can't get excited about a bunch of guys on bikes. Now give them all Harley-Davidsons...

I'm glad to see you're as enthusiastic about 81 Days as I was. It's really a magnificent story.
