FMF 24: 30 June 2017

Hey guys, and welcome back to another Fandom Music Friday--on a Friday this time! It's even on the Friday directly following my most recent FMF! It's like I'm actually on top of my writing projects for once. That's hopefully going to be a thing that keeps happening for a while.

So today I'm bringing you guys another Black Gryph0n and Baasik song; this time it's their tribute to Best Pony, a.k.a. Fluttershy. As per the usual for Black Gryph0n's songs, the lyrics are carefully worded to be either pony or non-pony. Of course, this means that you the listener can project Fluttershy onto the lyrics, but also yourself. "It seems so long ago/ I found a place that I call home," that being this fandom. Over the past few weeks, I let myself slip and entered a cyclical pattern of not getting things done, wallowing in guilt when I was supposed to be catching up, passing up opportunities to get stuff done, and then adding to my guilt. "Being a sight unseen is second nature to me. Am I the only one who believes I can do anything?" Even worse than that, not even I believed I could do anything.

I've said it once, and I'll say it again: music does things for me that written word just can't do. This fandom, these artists--be they writers, musicians, animators, or anything else--are so talented and so inspirational through both their lives and their works. "Though a sight unseen, I am a masterpiece/ And I'm not the only one who believes I can do anything!" I tried to use this song recently, but changed it at the last second because those lines speak of confidence, which was something I didn't have in abundance until recently. Now, I can honestly say that I'm feeling confident and on top of my work. This fandom is truly something special.
