Applejack hears of Twilight and Fluttershy racing about and decides to investigate. Pinkie Pie notices her friends leave on the train and joins at the last second. Chrysalis also sneaks onto the train as a station attendant and reveals herself in a huff.
Fluttershy expresses her desire to sleep in their ring together before Chrysalis needs to have her energy restored by her queen once more.
Applejack asks Rainbow Dash about Twilight and Fluttershy being away. The pegasus doesn’t know, however, and fails to find Pinkie Pie as well. Rainbow considers what her relationship to the new alicorn Princess Twilight will become.
Discord manages to break into Celestia’s alicorn dimension. He had been spying on Fluttershy for a while and orchestrated events around the pegasus to encourage her to think about Twilight in a more romantic sense. He did this to prove how he had changed into a caring being but soon found the enjoyment of the harmless chaos it encouraged.
Fluttershy asks Twilight to treat her with the care she has with Chrysalis.
Pinkie Pie is knocked unconscious on the train by her own lack of vision. Twilight plans on searching for Sombra’s magic in the Crystal Empire. Chrysalis begins to suspect the introduction of the hivemind is altering Twilight.
Twilight’s magic reveals Sombra’s residual energy in the Empire’s outskirts. She worries over a possible return and attack.
Discord grows bored with the slow pace of Equestria and decides to use his magic to set in motion events that will guide the land into a new era.
Introduction of the Vine of Life, Origins, and arachnes. The Vine expresses an interest in the future shaping of Twilight Sparkle and instructs its arachne worshipers to wait for the right time.
Chrysalis realizes she can use multiple romantic relations that Twilight has to feed indirectly. Twilight has to pause their search for Sombra after countless hours lead only to fruitless frustration. Chrysalis convinces her not to worry.
Twilight realizes she never asked if her becoming an alicorn meant she had become immortal. Fluttershy takes much interest and Twilight determines to find out soon. The detection spells for Sombra are sent via letter to Shining Armor and Princess Cadance to continue the search.
Pinkie Pie gets off the train just in time at the Crystal Empire and gets distracted by some yummy smelling food. She meets up with Vinyl Scratch, Octavia, and their group of friends. Pinkie winds up spending the night with Vinyl and Octavia.
A mysterious shroud moves within the Crystal Empire. It overhears conversation in a tavern and discovers the identity of the alicorn who had been chasing it. In hiding, it begins recovery of its magic once more.
Twilight and her small group begin their way back to Ponyville on the train. Pinkie joins back up with them, but Twilight begins to experience pain. Chrysalis knows it’s their unusual hivemind and the lack of a full connection. She rushes Twilight back to her sleeping ring in the Golden Oaks library.
Twilight begins to recover in the ring and Chrysalis insists on being closer to Fluttershy. For the first time, Twilight’s hivemind dreamworld turns from empty darkness to a calm willow tree surrounded by tiny streams – one of Fluttershy’s secret getaways.
Spike was away from the library when Twilight and the others returned home. He is with Rarity, helping her make dresses. Afterwards, Rarity treats him to relaxation at the spa. She seems to indicate she is grateful for his feelings he has not yet confessed.
Midnight Strike gets scolded by Centurion for not reporting about their trip. Rainbow Dash shows up angry at being left out of the trip and is joined by Pinkie Pie, who is eager for a Get Well Soon party. Both mares get sucked into a sleep spell by Twilight, since the alicorn wants nothing more than to sleep in peace.
Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie crash into the hivemind dreamscape now that they are asleep in the ring with the others. Direway is also present, since he fell asleep at the same time as the others and the ring connection at the guardhouse was still active.
Twilight connects to Direway, who turns out to be a rather playful pony off-duty. Pinkie Pie connects and is as crazy as one might guess. Twilight’s connection to Rainbow Dash, however, reveals a complicated past that none of them were previously aware of.
Fluttershy’s abusive past was at least guessed at by Rainbow in her youth. The rainbow mare wished she had been as feminine as Fluttershy seemed to be and has a secret wish to someday be a mother. In a final distinct memory before the initial connection is over, Rainbow admits to herself that she’ll never be the pony she wants to be. But she also admits to herself how much she loves Twilight.
Chrysalis is not fully connected to Twilight as the others are and grows frustrated at this. Pinkie gains a better understanding of her friends through the hivemind and decides for once to withhold certain parties for their sake. Now with her past revealed, Rainbow cries in fear of rejection even as Twilight soothes her and lets her know how much she is cared for.
Rainbow recalls a part of her past that has pained her since being a filly. It’s the story of her deceased sister, Sky Prism, and how the event affected her family. She feels better after voicing it and confesses her feelings for Twilight as well.
Pinkie Pie hopes to use her hive connection to tap into Twilight’s knowledge of magic.
Pinkie Pie breaks the group out of sleep and introduces hivemind speaking to Twilight. Now each of the members of the hivemind can converse without spoken words. Rainbow Dash accidently uses Pinkie’s random teleportation and falls out of an ink pot.
Twilight tells Rainbow to never hate understanding others and the mare understands why – it was why Twilight knew and accepted her for who she is.
Are the dates release dates or completion dates? Or targets? I'm slightly confused.
