News and New Projects · 8:29am Jun 19th, 2017
It has now been almost six whole months since my last story went live, and nearly a year since my last blog post--in which I discussed what my next major project would be. By this time, I'll bet some of your are beginning to wonder what I'm up to, or if I'm up to anything at all, huh?
Well, the answer is yes, I am. The reason you've heard neither hide nor hair from me for the past six months is that I've been spending them busily working on a new project that I'm excited to announce: Birthright
For one hundred years, the nation of Vikaasthan has experienced a golden age of wealth, prosperity and culture. For a hundred years it has been the crown jewel of the world. Sabrina Bunahr, first and only daughter of Esteemed Maharaja Marthanda Bunahr and heir to the throne, is honoured to call it hers.
But when she is tricked by the dragon Ko-Kraham, it is stolen from her. Her kingdom, her family, even her name and face are stripped away by a cruel curse, and she is left helpless as Ko-Kraham impersonates her. Unable to tell anyone what has happened, or who she truly is.
Trapped in her own home, a prisoner of avarice and envy, Sabrina must find a way to win back her life. She must find a way to break the dragon’s curse, and expose the impostor who has stolen her birthright.
That's right, folks. I'm very pleased to announce my first original web novel! Birthright follows Sabrina Bunahr, heir to the throne of Vikaasthan, as she attempts to break a curse and save her kingdom from the tyranny of the dragon Ko-Kraham. The story focuses heavily on themes of culture, as Sabrina explores and learns about the culture of the dragons living in Vikaasthan, and of the burden and responsibilities that come along with leadership.
And I know, I know, this is a website where people come to read about ponies. Human and Dragons? What's up with all that? I enjoyed my time working on fanfiction, and I won't say I'm finished with it just yet, but all of your support and positive comments over the years have encouraged me to push ahead telling my own stories, and this is one I'm passionate about.
At present, three chapters are available. So if you're at all interested, I'd like to invite all of you to enjoy Birthright!
This sounded interesting, but doesn't seem to exist any more. Did you take it down so you could publish?
