    The problem with Stripes

While my big "flagship" story fan fiction thingymadoo hasn't even begun to come close to the point at which I can hype it with blogs, I still feel like my first one should be relevant to it. Specifically, the reason why I don't make much progress on it.

Oh no, an author with basically zero fame and/or credibility has a problem! How tragic!

While I don't know if anyone will actually read this blog, I'd like to say hi, hello, I'm only dead inside and not outside. While I make little touches to the account here and there, I'll start off by saying I'm not really a "brony" anymore. Are there any, nowadays? The fandom has fallen into a more niche and accepted place on the internet, it seems.

But, as life changes, so too do the tastes and talents of its people. I won't bore any of you with a long history of what's happened; nobody really knew me to begin with, anyway! I do, though, have a story to tell and I've put too much work into it to let it die. Here's a quick trailer-esque snippet, if you want to know more about it:

Deep in the mountains of northeastern Equestria, there lies a vast network of tunnels, inhabited by batponies the likes of which you've never seen. Vampiric and brutal, they call themselves "Hunters," after their deadly efficiency and killing prowess. The Hunters are kept in line by a strict code of law, but when a foal is born of the illegal union of Hunter and Unicorn, how will the child survive? The answer may just lie in a strange, nocturnal pegasus who sees visions in the stars. The pair will become the prey of the Hunter colony, and must fight desperately to survive.

I think it's a little too cliche, yet, but w/e I'm still working on the thing.

Oh yeah I forgot to mention that "I'm still working on the thing" has been a repeated mantra of mine for the last three years. I'd like to say it's because I'm being a proper author and, like a proper author, I'm taking my time to draft and revise and edit the thing, but to be honest I just procrastinate a lot. Like a lot. Too bad I'm too stubborn to give it up, despite my interest in smol hoers floundering to remain relevant. The universe of Hunters is so ridiculously complex that I eventually ripped it apart and used its pieces to create an original universe of my own that's much easier to write about. I'd talk about that too, but this is FiMFiction, and that'd be off-topic.

Maybe I'll throw something together when I eventually complete and release Hunters.

I actually do have a few chapters written, but they're so old that they need harsh revisions, and I don't want to do that until the first draft of the entire story is done. Sorry about that. I'm sure when it's done (sorry game devs, stole your phrase) all four-ish people who are still alive to read it will enjoy it, but just... hang tight until then. I'm too stubborn to give up.
