For now, I prefer the original, though to be fair, a LOT of nostalgia comes with the old one. I suppose it'll probably grow on me as I hear it more and more.

But why did it have to be a reboot

Because it's been over 25 years since the original? Target audience wasn't even semen yet back then.

Man, this is amazing! Please, Disney, I hope the August premiere date is because you're taking your time with this reboot!

Well now, this looks promising!

I think I'd best re-read The Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck while we're on the subject.

Did I see it right? They transformed the old, chubby maid into some kind of badass maid!?

Fun fact: We have confirmation for season 2 before season 1 has an air date.

Removing Nostalgia Goggles...check.
Judging new intro on its own merits against original material without emotional attachment.

Song? Enjoyable.
Animation? Enjoyable and intriguing art style.
Characters? An overall improvement, it looks like. Scrooge seems to be more active, and Webby definitely looks to be a strong character, and the triplets are distinct from each other.

Overall? I am hopeful for this reboot.

Putting Nostalgia Goggles back on...
I see nothing here to get up in arms about over 'the purity of the original'. As long as they stick with how they wrote the original in not slipping in 'modern' jokes and references, I could see this series easily becoming as timeless as the original.

Did this series need a reboot? No, probably not. Can the reboot excel on its own merits? Quite possibly.

I am cautiously optimistic.

I love it.:derpytongue2: :pinkiehappy:

0:08 There's Gyro Gearloose. Missed him the first two times.

I guess I'll give the series a chance. For a moment, I thought Launchpad had stolen Baloo's seaplane...

The adults look good, but I don't like the squarish heads on the kids.

I'd like to check it out. The art styles kinda hot and cold for me, but I could get use to it. If the writing is any good, this could be gold.

My inner nineties kid wants to see this but my inner adult is skeptical.

Well... At least this version is actually including Donald instead of shipping him off to the navy.

And my inner kid started to freak the fuck out when I heard the theme song. Been way too long since I heard that.

Everything's been getting pushed back lately. DuckTales got pushed from July to August, Ladybug got pushed from June to September... :pinkiesick:

4571142 That's been happening a LOT, to good and bad shows alike. Star v.s. The Forces of Evil had that happen as well.

What does your inner-teen want?

4571295 A threesome with two hot women.😐

This intro's pretty decent, but I kinda liked the behind-the-scenes version with each member of the new cast singing the song.

With the news of everything I'm waiting for getting postponed (add Star Trek: Discovery into the mix), I'm glad to have the EqG specials to break up the mid-season hiatus.

4571127 Did the original even have a consistent plot to continue off from? I mean, with Invader Zim and Samurai Jack, it makes sense to continue off the original, because of unresolved plotlines. From my understanding, Ducktales was pretty much a villain of the week type of show.

If you're referring to the art style, keep in mind that they're going for another demographic. The kids look older overall, especially Webby. I can't get used to her having 'hair' while the boys just have tufts of feathers. I also noticed that the boys all have unique outfits, rather then recolors of the shirt and hat. I also found out that they're each getting a unique VA, rather then sharing the same one.

Speaking of VAs, Alan Young (Scrooge McDuck) is dead, so he obviously needs to be replaced. Russi Taylor (Huey, Dewey, Louie, Webby) is 74. Even if she was available, her vocal range might be limited. What's the point of trying to replicate the original show, when the cast has grown up? I mean, they could do a '10 years later' type of show without Scrooge, but then it isn't Ducktales at all.

4571141 I saw that too. Not really a fan of that. From the preview footage I found, Scrooge used to be 'Big Deal' adventurer. Donald currently is one. Webby is a screaming fangirl who knows about the whole Duck family. I got nothing for Mr. Beakley, except that she looks like Mrs. Doubtfire.

I'm... cautiously interested and optimistic. Nothing beats the original opening, and I'll probably still prefer the original series but I know that's partially due to a lot of nostalgia. The new opening isn't bad on its own, though still getting used to the animation style (its similar to the current Mickey cartoons but looks nicer).

The Scrooge time travel clip was funny though. A little bit wackier and out there than normal for Ducktales/Scrooge, but given the voice actor, guess they couldn't resist (and it is funny).

Would explain Webby's personality change. And it makes sense given Scrooge's history.

YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!
AT LAAAAAAAAAAST!!!!!

I never grew up with the original DuckTales, so this is pretty cool.
