Of all the darn game series from the SNES/PS1 era, this one gets to drag itself out of the shallow grave it dug itself by face-planting the 2D to 3D jump? This deserved getting exhumed out of the 90’s?!?!
By all that is unholy, why not just make a 4K port of the Atari E.T. game while you’re digging past the bottom of the IP barrel anyway?! Just to really drive home how not even Satan himself could foresee what dark, twisted, downright vile usages you’d put that contract signed in blood towards?!

Man, those animations look stiff as all hell.
I mean don’t get me wrong, I’ll buy it if it’s on sale purely for the ‘hyuk’ factor, I’m a sucker like that, but that does not look good.

No it really doesn't count as the sequel. I have played it. I didn't like it not because of the game play or mechanics the story was okay the multiple endings were cool but in all honesty it felt like a lie. No this is what I was talking about.
Start the video at 10 minutes and 30 seconds if it hasn't already keyed that in. I want to see the continuation of the story. What happens after.

Sounds about right with what I've heard through the grape-vine.
Have to admit I respect any developer that dares do something completely different with a sequel...
But I can't really blame any fan that feels pissed for that they got a 'Raiden' instead of the 'Solid Snake' they were hoping for either, if you get me.
It's a fine balancing act sometimes giving fans what they want and actually telling the story you want, and it's never a pretty scene when somebody slips off that proverbial tight-rope.
