It's possible to install Android on an iPhone.

Similarly, It's possible to install Windows on (x86-based) Macs, or even an Apple ][, using an x86 coprocessor card.

As part of the growing trend of building "Hackintoshes", its become increasingly easy to install MacOS on PC hardware.

In order to run older 16-bit applications, Windows includes an "NTVDM" subsystem in 32-bit versions to provide a simulated DOS interface that's presented to the software. Similarly, in 64-bit Windows, the NTVDM simulates a 32-bit system for compatibility, dropping support for 16-bit programs in the process.

The Apple Lisa, while ultimately being a huge flop on Apple's behalf, was eventually able to be converted into a Macintosh compatible computer using various hardware and software mods.
