    Thinking About BronyCon 2017...

The one convention I wanted to go to this year and I can't make it.

    Sucks.

Here's wishing everyone who goes the best time. Have fun and hopefully I'll see you there next year.

PS: If anyone wants to, send me an email with any amazing pictures you happen to get while there, and I might use them in the Brony Book I'm writing.

    Speculation thoughts

WARNING: SPOILERS FOR A 'ROYAL PROBLEM' BELOW. DO NOT READ IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN THE EPISODE.

Now that that's out of the way, thinking about the episode I noticed something interesting. Celestias 'evil form of Daybreaker had a very similar style to something else we've seen in the series. Does anybody else remember what?

One more clue. Extreme frustration brought about an extreme physical change.

Like Student like teacher.

Now this got me thinking...

First of all let's establish a couple of postulates. To be clear that doesn't mean these are concrete, just that for the sake of this idea they should be taken as suck in order for it to make sense. First, let's assume that Daybreaker as seen in the dream is what Celestia really would look like if she turned evil. Some minor variation perhaps but for the most part the same. Second, let's assume that Daybreaker was being at least partially honest in that she is technically more powerful than Celestia because she isn't holding back her magic at all.

Now, what sort of theories could we form from that?

First there's a bit of a tired old trope that Celestia is Twilight's real mother and and the similar change is proof of a biological connection. But I think that trope is a bit too played out and easy honestly.

There's a more interesting theory this is further proof towards Lauren Faust's original idea of twilight one day becoming Celestia's successor. That could mean in a hypothetical 'what if' episode where we see the future Twilight might be ruler of Equestria. More interesting but I feel like we could do one better. At least in terms of fan fiction.

This could point towards other potential ponies being alicorns as well. Like the potential of 'ascending' to an alicorn is a genetic mutation and some powerful ponies (like Twilight) have that gift. Maybe a result of there only being two 'natural' alicorns in existence the magic of the world is trying to compensate, to essentially bring back the alicorn race.

I'm not entirely sure, but I'll leave the floor open to discussions.
