I recently received news that my maternal grandmother passed away today on 05/24/17. I'm going to miss my grandma. It's strange, I'm supposed to be this eloquent weaver of words, and yet words feel so inadequate to describe someone's life and how that life impacted others. My heart aches, and yet I feel bad because I'm not shedding any tears.

4546145 Thank you. She was getting into her mid 90s so she had seen a lot of things which we consider everyday things. The first cars, the invention of the microwave, television, the lunar space landing. And then there are the social events of her time, such as the Vietnam war, the sexual and social revolutions of the 60s. The Kennedy assassination. I'm seeing and living in a different world than the one she saw and lived in. She's free of the pains of her old age, of her neuropathy, of her Alzheimer's, so even though I'm going to miss her, I'm glad that she's no longer suffering.
