hey, sorry for disappearing, I had school and conventions and road trips and the like, but I'm back and in the time I've been gone I've thought a lot about continuity and where I want my stories to go
Ok, so first of all I'm not doing my EQG/PR: Dino Charge crossover since I missed the window of the recent PR movie, so it's on hold, for now
Ok, second My next story will be a dialogue heavy story focusing on Pinkie and Fluttershy trying to get her to get some sort of help (Din't worry it's not gonna be a ButcherPie story) as I have wanted to write a reaction to the post-credits scene of LofE forever
Third, I am still gonna do a Gilda arc but I'm probably gonna focus more on the relationship between Gilda and Sunburst (I know starlight is probably gonna be a teenager in "Mirror Magic, but her human counterpart is still an adult in my headcannon)
Fourth, I know that a weird quirk of mine is that I make the EQ world way more realistic than necesary, mostly because I like seeing what characters would end up like in a world without magic, but I will try to be a bit less heavy on the realistic names and real-world references
Fifth (this goes along with my fourth update) I know that when I write my EQG fics (which is probably all of them for the foreseeable future) in my mind, I set Canterlot City within the greater Toronto area, and I know this is something of a turnoff, so I won't go out of my way to say that Canterlot is a Toronto suburb, but I should at least explain why I do that. So, to be honest, I like a story to have at leas stoke sort of place and placement, even when it's supposed to be vague, like the Simpsons, I still put it in a specific area, I was obsessed with maps and culture as a kid so I always like it when a character shows reigonal pride or something like that, I like seeing it, it adds a bit of relatabilty, and I chose the Greater Toronto Area case I felt it fitting and a nice little wink to the fact that the show is CO-produced by a Canadian company and has a lot of Canadian VA's and Writers on the team, plus, If you have ever met a Maple Leafs fan, you know how loyal they can be so basically having RD root for the leafs during the winter months a as fitting as I can get. Thought I know a lot of people are turned off by the fact that I try too hard to place the EQG world so I will be a bit loser and closer to the show when it comes to place and place names
And Sixth, I had a lot of time to think about where the EG movies fit within a school year, so I rearranged their placement a bit (more in how far apart each movie is)
EQG1 is probably Mid-Sptember since that's when most fall formal a in North American High schools happen, and the tings the students are doing implies that the year just started
Rainbow Rocks is 2 and 1/2 weeks after EQG1 and is probably early October since the school is still reeling from Sunset's actions, so I don't think too much time has passed between EQG1 and RRox, and the school needs fundraising to fix the main entrance, also, Early October is the last chance to have big events outside before the weather starts getting REALLY cold, so....
Friendship Games takes place at the tail end of the year, probably early-to-mid may, since Schools tend to have big ceremonial sporting events near the end of the year, plus Sunset must have had to have had a lot of time to be forgiven by most of the student body and find her new place in the world.
LofE probably takes place a couple weeks after FG probably early-to-Mid June as Sci-Twi is still reeling from Midnight Sparkle and probablay hasn't been given a lot of time to recover from it, and camp ever free is probably a special end-of-year trip for upperclassmen or student who get good enough grades (kind of like the lagoon days the schools in Utah have) and the specials probably take place during the summer or during the girls' seneior year, but I haven't watched the, yet so I can't really place them
Ok, so that's ,y 2 cants see you next week, MJP out
