Why!? Just why?
Warning Spoilers ahead. I will make today's episode very vague though.
First, we get our first Celestia episode, and it's to cover up the Twilight episode, that is being used to cover the hidden Starlight episode. I will admit that takes talent for doing a cover up for a cover up, but it was still a Starlight episode. Then after that, they keep her! They should have sent her back to her old village to learn new friendship lessons. I don't care that she's Twilight student, she could have written letters, she could appear on occasion, but why did she have to stay?
Second, we get yet another Starlight episode. Then she doesn't even have to want to anymore to brain wash ponies. I've heard of repeating mistakes, but that takes it to a entire new level.
Third, Twilight has to learn the same lesson she's learned (and has helped teach) about how may times? At least we get the adorableness known as Flurry Heart.
Fourth, we get another Maud episode. I was so hyped! Then who do they try to force a ship with? Starlight...again. That would have been an amazing opportunity to introduce and learn more about one of the background ponies. Like Derpy Muffins Derpy. 
They even teased it, yet nope.
Fifth, it was awesome seeing Fluttershy like that. As a fellow animal lover, I lover her even that much more for standing up for what she believes. She knows what the animals needs.
Next, we have a Rarity episode. While I promised I'll give every episode at least one chance, I honestly will admit I could have skipped this one. Her being insanely overdramatic (even for her), because Sweetie has been busy actually getting a life and career now that she has her cutie mark. If Rarity wanted to do anything, it's shouldn't be that little foal stuff, she should have asked if Sweetie wanted to take a vacation to Manehattan with her or something. Seeing the CMC meet up with Babs Seeds again, and perhaps grow the CMC all while being able to spend time with Rarity. That would have been a lot better than what we got.
After that they drop a bomb shell and bring in Rainbows parents. What is with the show and hiding family! If they were going to ruin anything, they should have brought in Scoots parents. Maybe they weren't that great to her, and Rainbow has to show them what an amazing mare Scoots has grown up to be. I know I'm talking about the Diamond Tiara episode, but...I just really want to know what happened to her parents.
Next we have the big, Big Mac episode. Why the freak would they bring in Justin Bieber! I mean, seriously? Then they tried to ruin my Marble/Mac ship! (Yes, I'm still upset about it.)
Honest apple, I just have to shake my head at. Rarity, sweetie. Do you remember when your friends tried to design dresses for the gala? AND YOU STILL WANTED APPLEJACK TO JUDGE A FASION SHOW?! That is just plain stupidity in so many ways.
And now we reach todays episode. WHAT THE MOTHER FREAKING BUCK HASBRO! We finally get a episode, with not just one but BOTH OF THEM, and you have to bring her in? While I will admit that the fight was more than epic, and I got a few couple good laughs, but it would have been better if they did what happened to themselves. Instead of you know what making you know who, try and take care of things. Speaking of which, you know what has no business getting involved with you know who! I'm not even going to go any further into that one.
We're only 16 episodes into a 26 episode season, and I'm already done with this. So far, I've really enjoyed (3/10) of these episode. I'm terrified to know how the other 12 episodes are going to be.
I actually liked today's episode, and what really made my day was Twi dragging Starlight off screen. Thanks, Twi, I owe you one.

I actually did like today's episode. I've been waiting for that since season 1. I'm just complaining because Starlight. This had to be my favorite of the season so far.

I actually liked episode number 10. I liked it because we got to see a lot of characterization for Celestia and Luna, and Luna is my single favorite character on the show, as you may notice from my Fan Fictions. I also really like Celestia and Twilight, and I find Starlight an interesting character.
The other episodes I liked this season were number 1, number 2, and number 4. Number 1 had more characterization for Celestia, and also for Twilight (we see her basically having to be in Celestia's position), number 2 more for Starlight and Trixie, and number 4 Starlight and Maud.
What makes me sad is that of the first ten episodes, only four of them were good. The rest were mediocre to awful.
I fear that the quality of the series is declining. My wife's explanation of the spotty quality is bad new writers. She may be right.
I feel like I am the only one who is enjoying season seven. :( They will probably pull the show off of the air because everyone keeps complaining about the episodes even though the show has been consistently good since the beginning. But there's nothing I can do about it. And it makes me sad.

I doubt they'll bring in Scoot's parents because that would just destroy about 90% of fanfic with her. The sad part is, I wish I was kidding. I could say the same with AJ but at least that's not ground breaking so... I like it so far but that's just me.

4540914 I wrote about why I feel the public opinion about the show and movie ratings are going to get it pulled from the air in my blog here.
There are a lot of signs pointing towards it getting pulled. And this actually makes me really sad as a fan. Especially when I feel that the show has just gotten better over time. This kind of effects me on a deep emotional level I can't really explain in one place.
But the blog I posted gives some insight into what I feel is going to be the downfall of the series.

Plus, as many haters, there will always be those who love Starlight. Plus considering they've already confirmed season 8 and 2 more EQG movies, then I think it would cost more to pull it, than to keep it.
4540949 Negative fan opinions always are a factor in cancelling a show. There have been many examples of movies, shows, and so on who had many movies in the works and future seasons planned but got canceled because of negative reviews and declined interest. One of my favorite cartoons of all time W.I.T.C.H. was a victim of this.

Don't get me wrong. Even crappy MLP episodes are better than most of what we see on TV.
4540991 I haven't seen a decline in the quality of MLP episodes. In fact, I think the show gets better and more mature each season. It is too bad the majority of fans font feel that way. The fandom tends to be pessimistic towards anything the show tries to to do different. But that's what make it so interesting in my opinion. It is better to have a show where new things are always happening than one which always has the same characters, does the same things, and never really goes anywhere in terms of plot.
It is too bad the rest of the fandom doesn't feel that way. I predict that the overall negativity towards the show, MLP movie, and other brands will get it pulled from the air. And when that happens, I will be very sad. This has happened with other shows I have loved in the past. It is sad that I am seeing the same thing happen to a show that means so much to me. And there is literally nothing I can do to stop it.
