    Revised Harmony Spirits

I wanted a full set of these with proper art, so with permissions from mauroz, here they are. A couple effects have been tweaked to be consistent with modern vernacular in the card game and for my own better understanding of card design and balancing, and I also added a new "Tier 1.5" form for Twilight so she can have her own Fusion outside the ace monster, and finally added Sunset as a

Episode Review - S7E10 A Royal Problem · 7:45pm May 20th, 2017

I knew the moment I read the summary for this episode this episode would be awesome or terrible, a concept like this wouldn't do in half-measures. So, awesome, or terrible?

Very, very much the first. This is the Celestia and Luna episode we've been waiting for.

Celestia and Luna are hilarious, heartwarming, and interesting. We know the outcome of the episode but its great to explore their daily lives and see how hard they work in ways that others may not even realize. Really, this episode was all about seeing the Royal Sisters as the sisters more than the royal, and it was great. And the issues they confront make sense, Luna dealing with loneliness and isolation on a regular basis since everyone else is asleep at night, and Celestia having to constantly put on airs of happiness and regality for the sake of her kingdom. It was just... unf! Really, this is the sisters episode we've wanted for years, and it gave me almost everything I wanted. The "almost" is no Kibitz or Tiberius, I know the show ignores the comics but really, they fit in just fine with the sisters and it would be nice to see them immigrate to canon.

Starlight is fine in this episode, she's grown on me. The problem i had with her is that she was only ever around for her own solo episodes, which by themselves sucked. But she's fine when she's used properly, same as any other character. She does well here and I get why she was sent here, the map probably intended for her to use that cutie mark magic and it worked out. Twilight was fun too, Starlight needed someone to talk to for narrative purposes and Twilight gave that, and was humorous in her own right. I suppose they could have used Discord (the music box joke is something he would do) but that wouldn't have worked as well for numerous reasons.

And... Daybreaker. 'Nuff said. That was awesome. The dreams were great, Canterlock returns for a good joke. About the only thing lacking in humor was Cakelestia but pft.

Humor was all spot-on, characters were fantastic, we get the Celestia and Luna depth we wanted ever since Season 2, and Starlight does more good work on her own without Twilight.

10/10. Best episode of the season so far.

Honestly, Starlight is kind of cast to the wayside in this episode about halfway through. She drives the plot, and even the conflict toward the end, but it switches pretty organically into a Princess-focused piece at just the right time. And that might just be why it really works. :3

Celestia and Luna need more episodes cause oh my fucking god this was amazing! Celestia was comedy MVP in my opinion but Luna and the amount of shade she threw and the ZERO amount of fucks she had to give were amazing...Starlight continues to be OP and um...correct me if I am wrong but doesn't that map only call the Elements of harmony to fix friendship problems? Foreshadowing?!

Agreed. This is going to be hard to top for the rest of the season. Everything just worked here.

4540376 It has never been stated that only the Mane Six can be summoned by the Map. I expected this sooner or later.

I am Realm Jumper, and I approve of this review.

4540399 I know its never stated but I just thought it was implied

I honestly didn't care for Starlight in this episode because she didn't seem to learn her lesson again, she never really seems to and you could have just done this episode with Twilight as she knows how to switch marks too, that and she would have learned that being biased about a problem can affect it negatively, while Starlight again learned nothing. :trixieshiftright:

I have to say that Daybreaker for Celestia's nightmare analogue was a really good name. Especially in comparison to what some fans called her hypothetical nightmare. Daymare Sun, for example.
