Well, not giant, per se, but like any good plug, it is two-pronged. I suppose this paragraph is the ground.

Firstly is a fascinating blog by ExOttoyuhr that examines Sunset Shimmer from an angle I don't think anyone else has considered.

Secondly, I'd like to draw attention to Piccolo Sky. If you like stories that poke fun at the inconsistencies, plot holes, and breaks from sensible reality that crop up in Friendship is Magic, you'll enjoy his Two Background Ponies stories, starring the OCs in his avatar, Incarlsistency and Sam Listens-to-Carl's-Problems. Yes, really. This includes a lot of blog-based mini-stories based around later episodes of the show, a lot of which only I've been commenting on. Piccolo is a hidden gem of the site who in my mind deserves to shine more.
