This is a little thing I wrote for the story called Machinations, it's a really good story with solid world building. It's a shame it hasn't been updated since 2014. I'm the author's only follower for some reason, and it's been that way for 4 and a half months.
I wrote this around three months ago. It requires a little knowledge of the AU so if you're confused, don't worry. This is unedited, non canon to the original story, contains two of my OC's, and is lacking on description. Enjoy if you can!
Canterlot...once a great city with pride and dignity...now it's a great city of pride with a distinct lack of dignity. I can't complain too much. after all, I'm lucky enough to have a family that could actually sustain themselves. A feat becoming more and more hard to pull off as the Celestial Union drifts further and further away from their purpose, and further into corruption. Luckily, I had a somewhat decent plan that could fix all that! Too bad I had to resort to robbery to achieve it.
I know what you're thanking. Wouldn't this put yourself into a position of dishonesty? And you'd be right. But to be honest, it's technically not stealing if you're talking something that isn't theirs to begin with.
“Hey, kid! What’cha you lookin at?” the Aerodrome security guard on watch asked as he walked up to me.
How could I tell he's a he? That's because I know the old geezer! Midnight Watch, he's a black pegasus with a dark purple mane and tail, and used to be apart of Luna's royal guard before The Fall of The God's, then a sentinel, but he still has enough in him to work as a security guard for the Wonderbolt’s Aerodrome.
“Just admiring this beautiful piece of jewelry.”
“That's no accessory, it's the Element of Loyalty. Worn by the greatest Wonderbolt that ever lived! The centerpiece of this entire memorial.”
“You claim it to be the centerpiece, but the ones you follow disgrace the Elements and what they stood for…”
“Hey, we may not be what they wanted us, but times change! Ever since the Fall of the God’s, nothin's been the same!”
“Have you ever considered that maybe they left, not because times were changing, but the hearts of the ones who they protected turned against them?”
“Teenagers…”
Although I don't plan on continuing this, I still have a couple of interactions between different characters in this universe that I could easily put together and make a little series out of it.
