You can pretty much start with any of the games. None of them are directly connected and each has it's own flavor. I will add though after playing 4 and 5, going back to 3 will irritate you.

4529214 Play 4 then 5, or 5 then 4. Play 3 last, ignore 1 and 2. 4 is the BEST of the Persona series. 5 is second best.

She might be my waifu in my second playthrough. I only didn't pursue her because at the time my stats weren't high enough. I was going for Ann but then my homeroom teacher stole my heart.
