Some quick thoughts on some of my fics. I'm thinking of marking several universes completed and/or cancelled out of a lack of "well I don't really have the drive for this anymore". But then I also look at my previous works and really enjoy the weirdness I'm so prone to write.
And then remember "Man, I really did some silly stuff here".
I'm going to rebuilt Chapter 5 of Meganverse. Just scrub the whole chapter. That's it, explode it. Nothing more, nothing less. It's time to get back to my roots and really write the fic I wanted to do. I had so many ideas but like a certain Babylon 5 person, I G'kared it, and it's all for the better.
To keep my mind together, I'm going to nuke the original copy and start a fresh document. Also, that doc file was on 30 pages omfg.
Now.
Will we see more of Appletini and Diane? Maybe. If I can think of another hook to pull us into this fanciful world of spies and genderbends, I will.
Transformers Prime MLP AU? Probably yes, when I do a full rewatch of Prime and the early seasons of MLP.
Meganverse, still on the table.
The further adventures of Gentarou Kisaragi in Canterlot High? Mmmm maybe. I kind of feel like I've done all I can with him. That isn't to say we might not see a few more of my favorite characters involved with the students of CHS and CPA.
Another Darkly Dawns fic? Naw, that's done. And I'm pretty sure the RL Stein-Goosebumps inspired fic is deader than a doornail. I think I'm going to just submit that as the first casualty.
So yeah, midnight ramblings from someone who should really be picking up fam from work.
Oh, Bastionverse is still going too. Juuuust fyi. I know you all want your Disney Princess Horse Adventures.
I'm glad to see that you Megan story is still in the works. It's pretty nice. As for rebuilding a chapter, it's good that it's only a chapter. I have complete rewrites to deal with.
I do hope I'll be seeing that new chapter fairly soon though. I'll be nice to read more.

I've tried restarting the material I had for a long time, and basically ended up scrubbing it many times. I think I was trying to make it more high stakes than I wanted to, and in the end, I think just keeping it normal stakes is fine. I might not be aiming for slice of life here, but it is more adventure than slice of life.
4524938 Yeah I've been there and know what you're saying Pandaren. Besides elevating the stakes in only chapter five with what I've been reading wouldn't make a lot of sense. The timing is wrong;,now later on it'll work out if it's even necessary.
As for adventure and slice of life, well gen one did both often at the same time and that is something Megan handle really well.
And on that the note of Megan I've got to praise you a bit for not mishandling her characterization. While she hasn't been used that much here those who have used her have missed the mark, and by a lot usually. In this case she is the girl I remember, just a older by some extent.

it's funny cause i don't have much experience with Megan's storyline outside of the first movie. I was more of a Saber Rider kid. But I'm glad i'm able to make it a good reading experience for you.
4525218 I vaguely remember Saber Rider actually. I never saw much of that show though, I was watching Voltron at the time and wasn't aware of Saber Rider until later. There is also a crossover team up between the Voltron Force and Saber Rider's crew that happened. I'd like to track that one down and watch it sometime.
Well Megan's characterization in the movie didn't really change in the show, it was just expanded is all. So if you watched the show you'd probably realize what a good job you've been doing. The only thing actually changed was the voice actress for some reason.
And yes I have been enjoying it quite a bit. It was in no small part due to what you wrote that I was inspired to do an EQG story with Megan in the cast. So between you and Albinocorn I actually got some ideas of what I wanted to do. Thanks for that by the way, I appreciate it.

Voice actors in that era were like water. They changed more rapidly than anyone could imagine. But thanks, I like inspiring people into ideas and stories and I'm glad that my little corner of the fanfic world could help you with your own.
4525301 Well yes and no, Peter Cullen was everywhere back then. He was Optimus Prime, he was also Ahg and one of the Grundles and the Crab Nasties captain. He did the opening narration for Voltron, voiced the mech's computer in Saber Rider, and was the expedition force ship's captain in the vehicle team Voltron series.
I don't know why Tammy Anderson didn't reprise her role as Megan during the series proper, that is anyone's guess really. Bettina Bush did a really greta job though and unless you know exactly what to listen for and when you'l never know this difference. Megan sounds like Megan.
Yeah I've found that when I vague ideas of my own that reading the work of others can help me to give then shape and focus. Unfortunately I have recently been forced into a complete rewrite of Equestria Girls: The Witching Hour due to issues with the current version. I am working hard to make the new iteration of the story better than the current one and hopefull I'll get feedback that helps that to happen.

I've taken a reread of Meganverse and I decided last night not to include RR and LoE or FG as a "rewrite" since the pre-EQG1 timeline is completely off the rails now. So I totally understand that.

When I write an AU I like to incorporate aspects of the main original canon into something, but there's too many inconsistencies to make it viable the way it is normally.
