Before I tell you, I want to say, ignore everything everyone says. Carefully consider the ships that you like, and then outline a couple potential plots. Pick whichever will make the best STORY, not the ship that people will like the most. Because, contrary to some folks' thoughts, the ship doesn't make the fic!

Now, as for my vote - if you do anything other than DashxSpitfire...

I would stick to couples for either Applejack or Twilight. Mainly because aside they are characters who might have significant interaction with Fluttershy and Big Mac and should be characters in focus. I'm a fan of CaraJack and TwiOrion. Ultimately your decision, I just think those two do their importance to the story. If you introduce other couples it could get confusing later in the story. Can't wait for the next chapter. I really love this fic.
