I was talking to my wife about her assignment and she introduces me to Grammarly. She gets the premium version free with her studies.
After using it for an hour, I must say this.
IT. IS. AWESOME!
Pros
It squashed a LOT of annoying little mishaps - grammar and spelling errors.
Probably won't compare to a real editor but it does the job for now whilst I find someone.
Cons
I mean, it's not perfect. Told me I used "I" and "Pony" too many times in on chapter and suggested I use something else and horse. Oh well, it squashed a LOT of annoying little mishaps - grammar and spelling errors.
For Americans, it is perfect for their spelling. For Brits, Aussie and assumingly Kiwi's not so much. It wasn't winning me any favOURS on that account.
Also doesn't like archaic language such as whilst, amongst and thereafter, which I am particularly fond of.
Doesn't like Applejack or Applebloom - Ah mean what's not tah love?
Summary
So I edited chapters 1 - 7 using it. Still wanting to find a real editor though, lol. I hope it's a better read now!
