Signal Boost: Expand Your Horizons and Expand Your Ships! · 4:03am Apr 18th, 2017
So, at long last, I'm home! BABSCon was freaking epic and far surpassed my expectations... but also for reasons I never saw coming!
You'll hear all about it soon(tm), but I can tell you what I did on Sunday night of the Con. Well, more like Monday morning... But still, it was great and turned out awesome. Shockingly, it turned out just as hysterical and awesome when the sun was up as it was at 3:30 in the morning!
Monochromatic just launched "Interwoven Colours," the latest and greatest RariTwi contest! Curated by the irrepressible and unstoppable Patron Saint of RariTwi with yours truly helping out a little behind the scenes (including judging! ). It's going to be glorious. It's going to be awesome. It's going to be fantastic. And she needs YOUR TALENT!
She's even offering stupendously wonderful prizes! And I'm going to sweeten the deal too! I'm offering cover designs for the top five rated stories!
So, you're probably asking, "Hey Novel, aren't you like completely obsessed with SunLight? Uh, you do know that Rarity isn't Sunset, right?"
Yes. Yes, I do know this. (I have however seen some quite excellent RariShimmer fics though).
But I've actually been fond of Rarity & Twilight for a while. I've read plenty of stories that made the pair fun. Felt Heart, of course is the first, but there's also Let's Find You a Date and Almost Beautiful. I think it's a solid ship, but I'm shamelessly an equal opportunity shipper. I can be sold on (almost) any ship as long as the story is good.
Anyway, I'm actually going to be writing for this as well, though I'm excluded from winning since I am a judge. But that's not the point. The point is to have fun. And I'm going to have fun with it, too! I also finished my latest novelette recently and needed a new project. Not quite ready to tackle the next Wavelengths story since there's already two in the editing pipeline.
...I have no idea how to actually end this blog. So, I'll just say (again) that BABSCon turned out to be totally awesome, even though I was worried about it since I didn't know anyone there personally. It was great! And I'm totally not freaking out about EFNW in a month.
Nope. Not at all.
