Review #86 - What? , Necessary Evil · 4:30am Apr 12th, 2017

Well, I am indeed sorry for the delay for this review, but here it is now:

What? by Majin Syeekoh
Necessary Evil by Super Trampoline

What? by Majin Syeekoh
(Comedy)
After a night of sisterly snuggling, the Princesses Celestia and Luna wake up with a baby in Celestia's bed. How it got there leads to a discussion between the two sisters.

I'm gonna agree with the title on this one.... what? Okay, but the closest I can describe this story actually is, "what?" Time for characters. Celestia, I do believe you are in denial for the first half. And then Celly comes out and becomes a rational pony wondering how the heck there's a baby. And Luna, Luna is calm, confident, and thoroughly outdated. Really, this entire thing happened because of Luna being outdated. But in reality, #BlameCadance. Somewhat old joke aside, Twilight is such a book horse always prepared for any event, and totes in cahoots with Luna. The characters do, however, build on each other, which is probably what kept me reading this... nice job Majin. Unfortunately, because this one has absolutely no point, except maybe that which could be classified as a troll fic, it is entirely forgettable. Also, I have literally no clue how the chromosomes worked in this fic, but I suppose Twilight did explain it as "because of magic."

The greatest weakness then is how pointless it is. Really, I get the on- shot-y-ness, but still, it could have had something to make it memorable.

Recommendation: Worth Reading if you have nothing better to do. (If you got spare time, and literally nothing else to do, then this one can occupy that space quite well).

Loving me could be your fatal flaw.

Oh my, this one is depressing. But, it felt more like reading the story than watching it or being in it, which is quite sad. The speaker/ narrator never gets named, nor does his wife, but I can somewhat describe how he feels. And that would be how the wife is a bitch, and he's an ungrateful welp. He doesn't know why they haven't left each other, but he figures it out after around 600 words. Actually, I just described the entire story. And that, dearest readers, that is why I forgot this thing even existed.

The greatest weakness is... I'm torn between how short it was and how unengaging it was, especially since they play into each other so much. Really, had it been longer it would have more time to draw the reader in, and if it had drawn the reader in it would have required more space. Therefore, I shall just pick both of them.

Recommendation: Not Recommended. (That there wasn't enough to even do a "proper" review should be enough of a reason, I think).

Fair enough. They say to write let you know, so A lot of my recent "serious" stories have been full of ennui.

And Majin Syeekoh is basically me but with slightly better writing but just as weird of story ideas

Thank you for the review!

No problem, mate. Even if it didn't end up being a great one.
