There's this mindset where I live to simply shrug and dismiss the shift from sunny days to blizzards within a day as "Meh. Utah weather." Seriously. A few times it's snowed and hailed while the sun was out. Like as in, there was literally just a cloud or two hovering right over a single city, dropping hail and snow while noone else even notices. So yeah. Utah weather.
It was theorized that in the early age of plants, due to the Sun's much more energetic output back then, plant leaves may have been purple instead of green, in order to better absorb a different set of light wavelengths.
