Hiatus for Hoennshy end in sight, but... · 7:17pm Oct 1st, 2012
...it's very far away. How far? At least February of 2013.
To put that in perspective, it has been four months since I last released a chapter. If I were to have chapter 16 released on February 1, it will have been nine months between updates. Not only do I have chapter rewrites that need to be finished and an outline to get done, I'll be starting anew school that month that will eat up all of my time. By then season three of the show will have come and gone, leaving Hoennshy even farther behind in terms of canon. The way the story is set up, I can't change it to match the new fiction, leaving the ending and plot open for people to bitch about how "I'm ignoring the show's canon". I'm sure that I've lost quite a few readers from this as well, and five months won't help.
What's stopping me from making it now? Eleven hour work days and art studies. Unfortunately that leaves me no time to write the remaining 25 or so chapters.
Sorry, guys. Not sure what to do...
Take your time. Life before ponies as they always say. Also, there are many people that read your story and I don't think that many will stop that just because we have to wait for a long time.

Right. It wouldn't be on hiatus if I didn't put life first. This is my first project that ever had a following, so I guess that I'm just a bit paranoid about people's patience. Though a comic that I read came back from an eleven month hiatus and still has a ton of fans. I just don't want to screw this up, you know?

Oh, yeah? Says who? Tell me the names and my squadron of Sweetie Bots will... eh... have a polite talk with them! That's right. dl.dropbox.com/u/31471793/FiMFiction/Sweetie_Belle_lolface.png
*sigh* As much as it pains me to admit it, Firedon is actually right. So take a break, do your other stuff and remember that you're not here for us--on the contrary, we're here for you.
Just use the time you need. There is no rush for things like this. In fact, I started school again today and I may not have as much time for my story if I can't put my thoughts down. That doesn't stop me, though. Slow and steady wins the race, and i'm sure that when you put up the next chapter (even if its 20 years away) people will be excited and enjoy your work more.
I honestly don't see an issue here. Re-writes aren't that unusual for stories. They improve quality and enjoyment. So, they're worth the wait. Outlines increase efficiency, which would help get things done faster and keep wayward thoughts in check. Real life always out-prioritizes, well, everything. I'd like to read Fallout: Equestria, but I've got AP classes and what not keeping me away. Writing with doubt is worse than writing under pressure; set aside free time as you see fit, and everything will get underway as it will.
As for canon, to hell with it. Hoennshy is your story. Do what you want with it. Anyone with half a brain's worth of sense won't care about canon. They'll only care about quality. Take as much time as you need. I, for one, will be waiting patiently. I've got plenty to do in the meantime. So does everyone else.
February? Dame...
*Sigh*
I atleast have 540+ other fictions to read.
395692 I can understand that, which is why (though I can only speak for me) if the story really interests me, then it doesn't matter if it takes a long time to update. For me, there are simply too many things not currently known that I really want to know, so I'd never drop it. Examples for these would be the tragedies in the Pokeworld and what Twi would do if she unleashed her Element(I mean, Rarity was badass, but Twi?).
I also think that your story is long enough for most of the readers to build up a solid interest, so I think most should be able to bear the wait.
395715 Actually, I just said it, so send 'em my way. I never had the opportunity to talk with Sweetie Bots before.
Bro take your time I'm cool with waiting cause I think I'm still in shock of Stephen/Stephanie discovering what the heck is going on(btw favorite part of the story so far) but it's cool man because as they say you can't rush perfection. As for the continuity with S3 I personally would put a disclaimer in the description that states that this was written before S3 was released and continue on with with S2 canon
Thanks for all of the support, guys. It's great to know that my efforts have been worth it so far and that the story is engaging enough so far. I was hoping that even though it wasn't as popular as something like FO: E or Past Sins that people could bear the wait, and it looks like it is!

What's funny is that I've had a disclaimer about conflicting canon since season two started. I might have to make it more prominent if it went unnoticed.

Twilight's Element is pretty good.
396223 Oh well I didn't remember it because it has been so long since I have had to read the whole description
Take your time dude, patience is a virtue that more people need to learn. I'll defiantly still be here when you get back.
I Agree, This story is too interesting to forget about. This was among the first few Fanfics I read and throughly enjoyed every chapter. I've personally read less then 10 or so full books in my entire life because i've never really been very engaged by books. So when I say I really enjoyed this fic I'm not kidding. Granted I've always been a fan of Pokemon from Gen 1-3 And sci-fi, so that does help. But none the less it's awesome. So take your time, life your life and we'll wait.

Thanks, guys. All of this support means so much, and the outline is moving along quite nicely in between my studies.
