The final chapter of Heavy Rock will drop tomorrow. And if you guys are up for it, I'd like your help with an experiment.
I know: lame joke. But it seemed appropriate.
A lot of what I post has some level of personal relevance, but Heavy Rock dials that up to (what else?) 11. It's both a reflection of, and a meditation upon, some of the things I've learned about life, love, and relationships. But it isn't as sucky and boring as that sounds by itself. I credit my awesome prereaders Dubs Rewatcher, 621Chopsuey, and Soufriere for helping with that.
I'm happy that Heavy Rock has found an audience. If that audience doesn't get much bigger, I'm still happy; I wrote a thing and it turned out well. (Of course saying that now asks you to trust that the ending doesn't suck. 
) But the personal connection makes me want to shout this one from the proverbial rooftops.

So here's what I'm thinking: I'll post the final chapter right at 12pm Pacific / 1pm Mountain / 2pm Central / 3pm Eastern / 7pm GMT tomorrow. And when it goes up, would ya check it out? I'm betting there are just enough people tracking it to pop it up into the box if people know it's coming and are willing/able to jump on it. And once it's there... who knows, maybe more people will get curious?
Look, I know I've pushed Heavy Rock way harder than most of my stuff. If you're tired of hearing about it, don't worry; I don't plan to do this with future stuff. I'd ask you to bear with my personal reasons for wanting this out there and trust that I'll settle down to my usual dull roar once it's over. But part of the challenge with this one is that the concept and pairing are weird, and I'm not sure how to persuade people to look past that and give it a shot other than to just come right out and ask.

Speaking of music, I'm curious: are there any songs you thought would make good chapter titles in Heavy Rock that didn't appear? MisterNick already hit me up with Metallica's Master of Puppets, but I'll bet there are some others. Maybe they'll inspire a few tongue-in-cheek "deleted scene" synopses...
I'll try, but I can't guarantee I can. I love this story and would love to help.
