[AUTHOR'S NOTES] Preparing for Fanfiction Friday · 6:20pm Mar 16th, 2017
So the first part of Lost Little Wolf is done. I'm not planning on naming it "part 1" or anything, just that it happens to be the first major story arc is now complete. This also marks the point at which I wanted to be at so I could start doing actual votes/polls for Fanfiction Friday, so huzzah! Fanfiction Friday shall commence!
Here's how it will work:
Every Friday I'll post a new poll with options for what you're interested in seeing me continue/start writing. During the week, I'll work on the selected fic with the goal of completing a chapter by the following Thursday.
Remember I blog-posted about Patreon a few days back? Yeah, you'll get a chance to contribute moneys to make sure I do some actual work. If you're a patron on Patreon, you'll get a second chance to vote for your favorite fic or fic idea.
What's this "Fic idea" thing I keep mentioning? These are unwritten/unpublished works that I've had some cute or clever notions on how they should be written but haven't actually dedicated the time to do so. Some are wholly original works, some are fanfics, some are sequels. You have a chance to pick one of these if the fancy strikes you.
Also, thanks to Patreon, you can commission fanfics that you might have had an idea about but don't feel confident that you could write it, don't have the time, or just plain want to see what I would do with the idea. You'll be able to get more details on that through my Patreon page (coming soon, this will get it's own blog post)
Commissions can also be used to "force" a chapter of your favorite work through the voting process. This doesn't mean that the votes no longer count, it just means that the next chapter of whatever you select as your "commission" will be treated as a commission, while the regular votes will be treated as a regular Fanfiction Friday entry. What happens if one of the fics wins the vote AND gets commissioned? Then that week gets TWO chapters of the winning fic.
Again, details on all this will be hammered out fully by the time I post my Patreon page, which I'm hoping will be live by next Friday.
Certainly sounds interesting, but I'm definitely waiting for the finer print. Habit of mine.
