    Sincere Shilling!

If you like D&D stuff, or just tabletop rpg stuff in general, one of the people I follow online is trying to get funding to create something to sell for Dungeon Masters to increase immersion.

    Happy Holidays

This is your yearly reminder that I wrote a decently funny Christmas story in the long-ago times. If you haven't read it, you should! If you have read it, maybe you should just stick with blurred memories of how good it was.

    Books!

So, due to my high level connections here and there, I now have an advance copy of several highly sought after ponyfic books. Now that I've had a chance to check several of them out in person, I have to say that Ponyfeather Publishing does excellent work. Anyone able to pick one up, at Bronycon or ordering them afterward, should totally do so.

Last Week on City Of Doors 7/7/2019

So, I've actually been posting on my primary blog lately. Which has been nice, given that I've pulled myself out of depression enough to actually do stuff like that. So, here's been my daily content over there:

So, glanced over at the Big Master Review List in the vain hope that proximity will help pull my brain up out of the morass (that's a good word in general, it doesn't get used enough) that is my current emotional/mental state. So, glanced at it and saw that I got it up to a big round number when I last updated it. 14,500 total reviews.

I... I think we might be reading too much ponyfic, peoples. That's an absurd number of reviews about pony words. 8,316 different stories.

I can't help but remember that my rule of thumb is that I probably only actually keep track of like half or maybe 2/3rds of all the reviews done. I don't touch rage reviews, or reviews in comments, and I know I don't follow all group reviews because so many of the groups just have one review thread instead of putting each review by itself. Seriously, come on guys! That makes linking the reviews to the list annoying and frustrating. It's like the majority of pony fan fiction fans don't even consider the effects of their actions on my hobby spreadsheet! The fact that at least two of those groups existed before the spreadsheet is the cowards argument.

Anyway, jeeze. I'm reminded again how I get a bit overwhelmed when I can add 100 reviews to the list and it's barely a bump up in the overall number. Point? None, it's just late and I'm avoiding bed and I managed to be in a mood enough to actually post something and so this is what came out. At least I can comfort myself in that it might not be as insightful as an Aragon post (one of which I just read a little bit ago) but certainly more coherent!

Ye, gads.

I mean, I've posted five reviews in the last five days, consisting of 21 stories. I've got another review set ready for tomorrow, which will put it at 26...

I just crossed 1000 reviews posted with Eternal. I'm already up to 1020.

That's not nearly enough reviews.

I mean, I've got over 6k stories on my RIL alone! :B

14,500 total reviews.

Of which I've contributed a little over 5% in... quite a long time. That really does bring home the sheer scale of the BMRL. What a resource that thing is.

Party at 15k!

Hey, you could have cut that in half I bet. You decided to read Project Horizons instead.

Thanks!

Yeah, but then you'd have to add even more stories to your list. :ajsmug:

The first five stories of my RIS, plus everything I need to read for the RCL, amounts to over 2.2 million words of fanfiction.

I was boned the minute I got on this train.
