New short story: Unto Greener Pastures · 9:19pm Mar 13th, 2017
So... I said my next story was going to be a Celestia/Sombra story, but I lied.
It was not a bad lie, in fact I didn't know it was a lie when I did my last blog. But, like all things in life, plans change and things develop, and I ended up writing a short fan-epilogue to a story that I absolutely adore.
That story is Injuring Eternity.
I ended up reading Injuring Eternity, or IE for short, during some downtime while I was attempting to figure out a particularly complicated part of the boat I am currently designing for the Roan adventure. Monochromatic, who is a friend and fellow author, had talked about it before and I had added it to my read later list. Well, it was later, and I needed something to read.
The story sucked me in from the first, as Mono is nothing if not a brilliant author (And shameless RariTwi shipper), and the concept hooked me from the very start. I mean, I've read plenty of stories where Twilight is dealing with her immortality with the help of her friends, but what about the other end of the scale? This story dealt with the fact that Twilight had outlived them all except for Spike, and was now going to go back in time and see her friends one final time so as to perhaps heal the wounds in her heart left by their deaths.
She was going back, more so, to see Rarity one last time.
And that concept just... hooked me, because I'm a hopeless romantic and a hopeless shipper (Just ask Penumbra or any of the Troll Squad, they'll tell you how bad I am.) and Twilight going back in time to visit her long-lost and dead love? Heck yeah I'm hooked.
So I read it, and somewhere around like midnight a few days ago I finished it, as well as a box of tissues because the final chapter was like cutting onions and jalapenos in an enclosed space. However, like all things that make me cry, I had to write about it.
I resisted the urge at first, I had work to do on Roan. But, eventually my inner writer overpowered me, and told me that I had to write some actual plot and take a break from endless descriptions, so I sad down last night and quickly wrote up this story.
And then i showed it to Mono, with no intention of posting it, and she just about died of happiness. So, I posted it, and she blogged about it, and now I am blogging about it!
So, yeah go read it. Then read Injuring Eternity. Then read my story again, and share in my pain.
Also, to all the new watchers I just picked up because they read Unto Greener Pastures, welcome! I hope you enjoy reading my other stories!
Now back to attempting to write more description for me!
