Shenanigans and Bridal Showers (Also: Life continues) · 10:59am Mar 12th, 2017
I used to be a lot better about keeping this blog updated... But I suspect that had a lot to do with the fact that I was writing a lot more and not working... or trying to piece my wedding together relatively last minute.
What's been going on? Well... the site Jinxy and I were at terminated their contract with our company, so we lost our site again... It took me three weeks to get a new one, and now Jinxy and I are working together again, only this time, directly together. We're both at a local UPS depot, working the truck gate. My shift is 10p-6a, while his is 11p-7:15a. To keep car shenanigans to a minimum, we wind up carpooling. He goes and gets food or soda while I start work, and I go get breakfast while he finishes his shift. It's worked out rather nicely so far, but I really wish I were on a second-shift so I could actually get snuggle time with Fiance. 
Fiancé's mother lost her place to live, so we had to take in one of the three cats she had. Dom (Fiancé's brother) took in Miko, while we got Charles (or Chuckie) - a 12 year old orange tabby - who was actually Fiancé's cat ages ago. Duchess Spitfire got acclimated to the new old man of the house within a few days, but Blaze (to no one in the Wonderverse fandom's surprise) decided that she hated him, and there could be only one Ginger kitty in the house. So yes... Kitty Highlander ensued... But she appears to at least accepted the situation for now, even if she will occasionally hiss or growl at him if he gets too close to her.
Today was my family bridal shower, and all the cousins!!! 
Fiancé's cousins got along super well with Steph's, Janet's and Julie's girls. There were lots of kitchen things received; nice pans, mixing bowls, etc... But the thing I'm arguably most excited about is the toaster. Four, extra wide slots! I can toast bagels!!! MomCord got me a tea service set, as well as a large number of glassware. Fiancé's mom also got us glasses that match the ones MomCord got... But MomCord generally wins because she also got us a queen-sized electric blanket. 
Zoned control too, so Fiancé can keep his side off while I blast mine on high because I freeze. 
There was a hilarious game I got to judge where five groups of the guests all made "wedding dresses" out of toilet paper. MomCord's group shamelessly exploited my weakness for Disney Princesses and made a dress inspired by Moana... So of course they won... Though, for the second game, I promptly schooled everyone because it was matching the Disney love song with the Disney movie it was from. 16 songs total, all of them right. I win. Appropriately, MomCord took second, and Cari-Rose (my best friend since I was 4) took third. As we were going over the right answers, I was called on to sing most of them (only most because there were admittedly a few that I did not know off the top of my head).
Today, I'm gonna try to do some cleaning around the apartment and get stuff put away... Hopefully Fiancé will help once he gets home, or Jinxy will while we're awake in the morning. Who knows? I certainly don't. 
I'm also gonna try to get a hold of one of my bridesmaids and if I can't by tonight, I'm gonna cut her from the wedding party. I hearts her, but she's holding up the dress orders and they're already gonna be cutting it close to arrival.
koolio, nice to see some things have settled for now but all the cousins has come to my attention please do elaborate.

Three cousins from my mom's sister-in-law (and one of them had two girls that came as well), two of Fiance's cousins, and two step-cousins from my mom's sister (and each of them had a daughter in attendance). So... 7 cousins and 4 cousins-once-removed...
I was... Very socially overwhelmed.
