Value of the BIT

Seen people talk about trade between Equestria and Earth. Biggest issue is how common gold and jewels are there. We aren't given a weight of a bit but if we assume at least an once per bit that means a 2 bit apple would cost over $2000

This is assuming a bit is real gold and solid gold not just fools gold or merely gold plated.

4456789 True enough though even gold plated would have some value. All this implies is that gold if a bit is sold gold is much more common in Equestria than it is on Earth.
Its why diamonds hold their value because the amount for sale on the market is regulated rather than what would happen if that regulation were stopped. Truthfully if you could drop several tons of gold onto the market the price would drop after a point and multiple people would be asking where you got it

4456835 I get my gold from Fort Knox where else. And true I see your point how else could the White Whiner stay in business using gems on her dresses. If they were just as valuable in Equestria as here on Earth there would be no way for most anyone to buy her stock. That and gems are show to be just uncommon and not heart stopping rare, in Equestria.
