Ponies are Doomed to go Extinct.

I have been thinking about this for a while ever since I saw the last episode of MLP and I have not seen anyone mention the problem I noticed, so I decided to post on it.

A little side project to clear my head.

To break up the monotony of working every day on Herd Life, I jumped on a little project to help clear my head. Please check out my latest one shot short stories, The Lonely Widow, The Lonely Widow.

Herd Life is making progress, just a few more pages to go.

Possible Herd Life writers group. · 7:09am Mar 2nd, 2017

There have been some who have expressed a desire to write stories that are of the Herd Life universe and my editor Peerlmagination, has brought up with me the option of starting a Herd Life group were readers can post these stories. I am open to the idea but I wanted to hear what some of your thoughts about it first. Is it a good idea, or am I suffering from a bit of an inflated sense of grandeur?

There is room for an expanded universe, it just comes down to you what you consider cannon.
Over all it's a great idea to have a group, and give people the permission to write their own stories based in your finely crafted universe. I'm interested to see where this leads.

Best of luck.

Xenophillia has such a thing. not a group though. however, i do know a story with it's own group and branch stories. i say go for it. Life of a Rose

It is a very interesting universe; one that I've never seen until now.

There definitely is room for people to make some really good stories for this. I'm up for it.

i'd probably add a few one shots here and there

I would encourage other writers to write in your universe, but hold off on creating a group until it actually takes hold. It would be a bit pointless to create a group before any stories that would fit in it even exist.

I agree with Calessa. Don't jump the gun on this. Form a group when several stories have been written.

Well, this has been very helpful. I am glad that there are those that are interested in the possible Herd Life writers group but at the same time, I think that its a little soon for one. After a little while, when Herd Life has matured a bit, I definitely will revisit this idea again.

I have been writing Herd Life like a episodic show instead of running it like a normal story were I focus on just one character and everything that happens around him/her. This has its advantages, but it also sometimes spreads the story a little thin. I have mainly focused on two main groups. Ash/Celestia and their family, and Strongbuck, Dove, and Bell and what is happening with them.

There are many characters in Herd Life I wish I had the time and room to dedicate a bit more story for. Sky and Dusty being at the top of the list. I wish to see them more flushed out with a deeper story. Also, there are the many young characters like Strawberry Zest, Tulip and Pine Blossom, Mighty Oak, Glum Drollery, and Journey Stomp I wish to see more flushed out, as well as the two feuding pair, Mustard Seed, and Morning Sky.

The introduction of Radiant Sunset and her sisters with Astral have also opened up story thoughts. I am thinking of adding a bit more of Radiant and her life there with the unicorns a bit more. Look forward to that.
