    Worldbuilding for my world

    Now with 100% less name!
Seriously, at this point, just call it a general assortment of theories, conclusions, and common sense, thought up by Giginss.

Before I get to the actual worldbuilding, I'd like to leave the name of a few who have had the greatest impact on my ideas and theories.

    First Story

Hooray! I've finally completed my first story!
Now, I've actually have had this story complete for a while now, I first wrote it over Christmas break 2016. It needed revision, and I never really got around to it.
    Until now, that is.
    [insert evil laugh here]
Since it was my first time creating a story, I had only heard rumors of the GDocs importer, and so I decided to see for myself.

Story Idea that has been bouncing around in my head

Nearly 1000 years have passed since the dawn of the Age of New Harmony, when the 6 Bearers of the Elements fought to keep Equestria in balance. Ponies have come far, inventing better and better technology. Now, only myths and legends remain of the old times, along with a few mysterious artifacts.

Origin
As far back as Equestrian astronomers can tell, the universe was born roughly 10 billion years ago, in a fiery explosion that sent energy of all different types everywhere. With the universe young, bright, and full of unshaped potential, the Architect, being of unimaginable power, took interest and started changing the universe to its liking.
At the heart of the explosion, 5 forces were formed. Gravity, electromagnetism, the weak nuclear force, and the strong nuclear force, and magic.
Gravity was assigned to rule over the stuff of massive scale, stars, galaxies, and planets. Electromagnetism was assigned to create the fields and structures that allowed electrons free flow and magnets to stick together. The weak and strong nuclear forces held the small components of atoms together.
Magic was assigned to be able to interact with these forces and bind the forces of the universe together, to be able to empower or change the forces at will.
However, the magic used on a daily basis is pocket bits when all of magic is taken in view. Various large collections of magic, called Shards, which all magic in said Shard flows in the same metaphysical direction, can be seen in the universe.
There are Greater Shards, which govern the higher parts of the universe, and Lesser Shards, which govern things that interact with day-to-day life.
The known Greater Shards are: Chaos, Order, Harmony, and Disharmony.
The known Lesser Shards are: Sun, Moon, Magic, Love, and whatever Flurry's is. Ice/Water, possibly?
Wielders of any Shard have abilities beyond what a normal being can have. The alicorns of Equestria are prime examples of this, as they have the powers of all three races at what would be considered a high level for a normal pony, as well as additional abilities that seem incredible to some. Immortality is one clear benefit, and Celestia's visions are another, but that is kept under wraps.
The Tree of Harmony currently wields the Shard of Harmony, and is responsible for maintaining enough peace and friendship in the world so that there is not constant infighting and the status quo is preserved and stable. Because of that, most sleep comfortably at night knowing that their house will remain a house even when they are not looking at it.
Discord, the self-proclaimed Spirit of Chaos and Disharmony, wields both Shards he has named himself for. He is responsible for changing the status quo and promoting disagreement. Because of this, individuals can learn and grow when they are presented with conflict, and innovation can create a better society.
It is unknown who currently wields the Shard of Order. Whoever they are, they maintain the laws that hold reality together, and provide a framework so that reality can exist.
Wielding a Shard has its downsides, however, a constant pressure by the incredible mass of flowing magic on the mind does have side effects. The most clear effects are insanity of the wielder, and trying to spread their Shard's influence everywhere. Nightmare Moon and Discord's insanity are the recent examples, but Celestia has held firm against her Shard, and Twilight, Cadance, and Flurry haven't wielded their Shard long enough for the pressure of their Shard to affect them. Whoever wields the Shard of Harmony has the capabilities to restore a mind fallen to Shard madness, but that does raise the question, if Harmony falls to Shard madness, who will correct it?
The Shard of Disharmony has the capabilites of breaking a being from their connection to a Lesser Shard, and the Shard of Harmony can link a being to a Lesser Shard.

Whew, that was a lot of words written in one sitting, and I don't even have a story to show for it.
More worldbuilding blog posts will follow, when I figure out what I want to talk about and sit down to write them.
