But it will probably be a few more days yet. Currently sitting at 10k+ words, but the chapter is only about 2/3rds done. It's tentatively titled The Attorney and The Earth Pony, which, yes, is a deliberate play on the title of a certain other story I do.
If this was a normal length chapter, it'd've already gone out, and there have been times I've been tempted to split it again. But in the end, I won't. The final article deserves to be double-length, and so it shall be. To fully explore its topic and the full story of the first Gentleman Five Stars recruited requires an extended chapter anyway!
I don't think its any secret at this point who the first Gentleman she recruited was, but to use HIM, I have a veritable minefield to step through and as a result this chapter is coming much slower. It's very hard to a) fit it into his canon story and b) make it believable to his character, and the upshot is, I really have to think about what I'm doing and tread very carefully. I think I'm succeeding; I've found the proper place in his storyline for this to happen, at least. You'll see in due course.
Why him? For a couple reasons, when all is said and done. A) I've already used other characters in here from Turnabout Storm, B) people have been asking about him, and C) given my other works and propensity to cameo Five Stars in them, seems only fair that I return the favor and give him a role here. It also helps tie together my various works and verses, at least loosely. I emphasize that the G4Mverse and Phoenixverse are separate verses, and what happens in one may reference and reflect the other but doesn't otherwise affect it... except with regards to Rise of Firefly, which is common to both. Leo has actually come up with a very good idea of when the two verses diverged, but that will be shown in RoF in due time.
Anyway, be patient folks, as I need to be with myself. The final regular chapter is coming, and is planned to be a doozie. I want this to be a proper ending to the story of G4M's founding, and do both the story and its characters due credit... and of course, end it with strong and celebratory sex scene!
As a prereader, I can say that I've rarely seen Firesight take such deliberate and careful action with a chapter. It's going to be YUGE. Believe me!
Honored to see 5SS has been adopted as the official acronym for Five Star Service. Back in the day it was called "FSS", but I kept referring to it as "5SS" until it passed into acceptance.
I'm very interested to know the story behind the two universes fragmenting. Technically my own stories exist in a semi-conjoined universe of sorts, but I never really bothered to think of anyway to join them. Going to take another look at the document before I go back to Fallout 3. (sigh) I blame Silentwoodfire for this...

Thanks for the vote of confidence! It's actually a bit frustrating to me that I can't just whip it out as I've been doing other chapters of late, but that's fine. Some things should be challenges and be worth all the more for it later.
5SS is indeed the official acronym now, thanks to your persistence. It should be added to the official urban dictionary now!
I'll tell you the story separately. It's pretty simple, but makes a lot of sense as I thought about it. And I gather you've found a new game to play? Somehow, I don't think SWF will be unhappy to be blamed...
