The crush, if done correctly, can be used as a character trait, or something along that line. The character watches from afar, that kind of thing. It doesn't have to be reciprocated. Sky doesn't even need to meet the character, or maybe... was it she? does. Somber having a child doesn't seem to far from being unlikely, we hardly know about him as a character afterall. It will be natural to fill in some part of his life with headcanon. ^^
