The little-known Leapfrog Didj handheld console is actually just about as powerful as an early smartphone, and is surprisingly easily modded given the correct tools. (Not to mention the fact that I haven't touched mine since about fifth grade)
Techbically, a vast majority of things we currently call Science Fiction aren't actually science fiction. Teleportation can be accomplished through quantum tunneling, and levitation is easily handled by maglev. Bigger things such as hypeedrives aren't currently possible, but may see prototypes and designs later on.
The QWERTY design for most keyboards was originally designed to purposely slow down typing rates to keep people from breaking their typewriters.
