Hey Everybody! (Spiolers and a rant) · 10:08am Feb 22nd, 2017
Sorry that I haven't uploaded in over a month now, I'm working on a side project at the moment and work is also taking up a pretty good portion of my life, please excuse the my absence. The side project I'm only letting a small handful of people look at to get their opinions and to ensure that this is possibly one of the best stories I've ever written. So hopefully my disappearance will be worth it in the end.
Like I said, in the title of this, there are spiolers so if you were wanting to avoid spoilers look away now! You have been warned...
Now onto what I've heard so far about Season 7. Applejack's and Rainbow Dash's parents are now a thing. They ain't dead...
Let me tell you why this is bullshit. Where the hell were they in seasons 1 - 6? I can understand Dash. She's independent and lives on her own with no actual or major responsibilities aside from caring for herself. AJ on the other hand, she cares for Apple Bloom and the farm to deal with as well. She helps granny out when she needs it and is doing something or another to help her family(Disregarding the mom and dad). She's done other things that involve bigger groups of her family as well. Now let me ask you something. Where were the parents in all this because I sure as hell don't know.
There better be a damn good reason or story behind this or otherwise they're risking the whole fandom possibly lunging at them ready to tear them a new one and abandoning ship. Hell, Applejack herself even said something along the lines of "If mom and dad were here, they'd be so proud." when Apple Bloom got her cutiemark.
Excuse me, but about 99.9% of the time when someone says this, that usually means someone died. SO, the ONLY way that I could possibly see any hope in this being something good is if A: It's just a dream that Applejack had. or B: Something along the lines of family feud where ponies are actually getting shot.
Or better yet, the flashback episode when AJ and Big Mac were still young. Where were their parents?! I mean, yeah, I understand that they were already old enough to fend for their self and everything, but what about Apple Bloom? She wasn't in the picture yet (which that still presents one theory to still be plausible). When she was born, regardless if the mom was AJ or AJ's mom, you'd think that she'd stick around to watch Apple Bloom grow up.
I know I sound biased, but I'm still making some pretty valid points here. That's kinda like just throwing random ass people in the middle of stories and expecting your readers to be ok with it. (I know, I'm at fault sometimes with this.)
Fluttershy's parents were introduced in a good way. The same thing with Rarity and they have the chance to do good with Dash's, but with Applejack, her parents were thought to be dead. They're walking a fine line here and it could go good and bad, the thing that I'm worried about is they are a lot more ways for this to go bad than good. Like a 1 out of a million chance for a good outcome.
I'm worried, but I'm intrigued at the same time. I hope to god that this doesn't backlash at them, but at the same time I want to see the outcome, good or bad. I just hope it's good.
Uh... Applejack's parents are dead. The info I've seen for the coming season indicates that they're being introduced through a flashback (which will show how they became a couple), not appearing in the present day.
And according to Jim Miller (current supervising director), their parents were out of town on a "couple's vacation" during the events of Where the Apple Lies.
