“…seriously?” The young brown colt peeked out between the ears of his mount, raising an eyebrow. He was standing on the back of a large blue feline with a deep black lion’s mane and black tuft of fur with a bright yellow tip at the end of its tail. The lion looked down, mirroring the expression of the colt.
Before them, in front of the pet store they were headed to, a small, scraggy brown dog ran back and forth, barking up at them angrily the whole time.
The feline lowered its head, glaring at the dog in annoyance before letting out a snort, the gust of air enough to send the dog tumbling backwards. The dog quickly got up again, however, bristling as it stood before them again and barked all the louder.
“Does that dog really think it can scare you off? Or does it actually want to fight you?” The colt sat back on the lion’s back, crossing his forelegs. “Well, if it insists… take care of it, Lux.”
The lion let out a low growl, raising one of its giant paws to bat the dog away.
“Stop it!”
The colt and lion both froze, glancing back down the street to the pony the voice had come from, paw still raised to strike.
“I can’t believe it! You should be ashamed of yourself!” Fluttershy glared as she stamped towards them, righteous indignation written across their face.
“Uhm…” The colt and cat both shrunk in on themselves slightly as the lion put the paw back down. They watched nervously, then blinked in confusion as Fluttershy walked right past them, barely acknowledging them.
She stopped in front of Shoushou, glaring down at him and stamping her hoof lightly as he stared back up at her with wide eyes.
“Now, I want you to apologize to the poor kitty, and no excuses.”
Oh man, I got the latest chapter tabbed on my phone ever since it came out. I need to finally start reading.
