EMPIRE: Underworld - An EMPIRE-verse story based in the Equestrian underworld · 6:21am Feb 21st, 2017

EMPIRE: Underworld is a prequel I planned that will happen concurrently with the events of EMPIRE with Orion and Shining Armor, however, this takes place in the Equestrian underworld, primarily in the Endestria District of Canterlot aka. The Crown City. The Endestria District is the largest district in the Crown City and is known as the 'Outer Circle'. It's also considered the 'bad part of town'. Because of its sheer size, Endestria is divided into several smaller districts often controlled and ruled by various crime syndicates.

The Equestrian Underworld, or the Downworld, is ruled by a council of syndicate leaders known as 'The High Table' and is held by the seven most powerful crime families in all Equus, perversing the Imperial Families of the Overworld. The Mizrahi Famiglia, one of the most powerful crime families in all Equestria, also known as The Garden of Eden led by a unicorn pony, Don Elohim Mizrahi.

Enter our two protagonists, two humans and paternal twins, Caiden and Abigail Zachariah, adopted by the Mizerahi Family's Consigliere, Abraham. and raised to be guardians and trained assassins for Don Elohim's children, Adam and Eva. The conflict begins when Elohim decides to will his chair at the High Table to Eva, rather than his elder son Adam. Adam, enraged by his father's decision, enters an alliance with the scion of the Camorra Family, Alejandro Santino, and assassinates his father. In turn, he will offer Eva to Alejandro, in hopes their union would seal a permanent alliance between the two families.

However, his plans are thwarted when Caiden and Abigail rescues Eva before escaping the Garden, but with great cost. Now, branded as traitors with prices on their heads, the twins seek revenge for the deaths of their father and their Don as they plot to bring down the Garden and the Camorra once and for all. There is only one way to permanently destroy an empire, by building another one on top of it. Follow Caiden and Abigail's adventure as they establish their own empire, forge allies and fight their way through the dark underworld.

And yes, Orion will remain oblivious to their existence because he's just that dense, or because they're just that good. The lore of the Underworld is inspired by the John Wick films and you'll see plenty of elements in this story. If you guys have any input on this, do let me know in the comments below.

Only one thing to say...

ALL

MY

YES

4430785 This is going to be a tad bit darker than Orion's story though and Abigail and Caiden aren't as refined as Orion considering how they aren't Entitled and weren't raised with etiquette.

Fine by me man. You're not the only one to write a gory crime drama :pinkiecrazy:

4430817 I'm also thinking of adding some elements from Mafia Octavia in as well :raritywink:

4430858 Octavia being one of the Contractors, Flim & Flam being syndicate rivals etc. Not sure how I'd feel adding the Apples as one of the crime families and Rarity as part of the network making bulletproof attires for the Contractors.

4430868

What would she call that line I wonder? Assassin's chic?

4431261 Possibly. Besides, we'll have more ponies from Ponyville as associates to the Underworld. Business is business after all.

4433025

Huh, wonder where Twily fits in all this. In my Mafia Octavia story she's the head detective in charge of dealing with the mafia.

4433095 Well I did say 'some elements'. Since this takes place in same universe as EMPIRE, Twilight is still the Princess of Friendship residing in Ponyville. The events of Underworld unfurl concurrently with EMPIRE so you might see news of the twins in Orion's story and news of Orion in their story. They're well aware of Orion being human and all but Orion will have no idea the twins exist because of their use of glamor magic. So while Orion deals with the Overworld (the terms they use for the world in plain sight), the twins deal with the Underworld. Their paths will cross eventually but not for a good while.
