    Finally stable, an update

Thanks to everyone who helped me out, really and truly, I appreciate it. I'm set for the month going onward into 2024. I lost my old home, but I closed a toxic chapter of my life and started a new one.

Cheers to everyone, happy holidays and here's to the new year!

    Finally An Apartment

Thanks to everyone of my friends help, their support, among other things, I was quick with being able to find an apartment for myself. I got extremely lucky finding a place the same day I got evicted, and was able to get things situated.

    I Need Help - Emergency

So to put it simply, I need help. Some things had been hidden from me until the very last moment, and at 5 pm on December 4th, I will be homeless unless I figure something out living situation-wise. Unfortunately, I have no way of fighting what is coming and have to resort to desperate measures, and that means swallowing my pride and asking for help.

    Story updates: Hiatuses

So as a lot of you know, I have quite a few stories under my belt, some of which are stuck in the incomplete stage and haven't been touched since Faust was in charge of G4. Naturally, this is due to a lot of things, mostly inconsistencies with my writing style evolving over time, work and stress irl, depression, and other factors that have otherwise hindered my writing.

If you really think about it, its not that much to write.

Like say... you want to write a story that's 100,000 words long, to some people that is a lot. Like, its enough to keep you busy reading for a couple of days or more, and when you write it out its even longer. Because you have to focus and all of that business.

And really... when you think about it, and I mean really think about it, it isn't that much to write out.

Now maybe you're thinking to yourself. Has our king lost his sanity? Even though he hasn't had any to begin with? I would think so to.

But, when you write, as long as you have your destination in mind, as well as the stops along the way and who you're gonna meet. It isn't that much to write out. Hell. Focus, keep your journey in mind, you could probably write out a 100K story in just a month. Yeah yeah I know for some writers this isn't a problem, and maybe I'm just pulling crap outta my ass or whatever.

I'm just talking, ya know? This isn't some big discovery I made or anything, its just some thoughts I've constantly had whenever I write. Like when my friend was still here we wrote so much in just under a couple of weeks because we bounced ideas off of each other and worked together so well. Ahhh fuck I miss her, dang Navy. Anywho.

This is mostly for the small writers.

As long as you keep your destination in mind and all that, you could write big epic stories, if that's your plan anyway. There's no need to write a big epic. You can get by just fine writing nice little one-offs and what have ya. But if you have an idea in your head, you're excited and having fun writing it, and you have inspiration and the ending in mind.

Then by the fuzzy nipples of Chewbacca, you should go for it kid.

Reach for the stars, aspire to complete your goals and don't ever think less of yourself. You're awesome, and shall always be awesome.

I needed that dude! :D

indeed. THe problem i have the most is not to get up with a story but with details. How could it go? About what could they talk and so on. That's what troubles me the most.

There's actually some truth to this. When you have you story planned out and you've got a writing schedule going, you'll realise you're hitting those tens of thousands quicker than you thought. Before you know it, a month later you've hit 50k and you're wondering where the time went.

Glad to hear :yay:

Well, when it comes to conversations, you just gotta let it flow naturally. Like how you think some characters would react to the information presented to them and such. I mean... that's what I think anyway.

4428375
Indeed! Its kinda crazy to be honest.

4428403 Thanks for the advice, appreciated. Started yesterday to write on the story with scotch tape as I'm stuck on my other stories. Got 900 words by only explaining the backstory of the game events

4428404
I recently learned its best to start out some stories by introducing a character at first, to give the readers someone to latch onto.
But good on ya boyo

4428407 Thanks. Had time to play the second Homefront? I ordered it a few days ago and can't wait to try it out

4428412
Welcome.
And nope, I don't have a system to play it on.

4428415 Pity, but I hope when you get one that you will enjoy it.

100K words is pretty much what i read in a day or two:applejackunsure:

Often even more

4428429
That avatar though.
And I get ya, mostly its a short time for speed readers like me and I suppose you as well.
I can usually finish off a few stories in a short time when I get in a reading mood.

4428420
Mmm, same.

4428466 TY:twilightsmile:

though i don't think myself a speedreader....

how long does it take you to read 20k words?

sometimes rarely it takes me about 13 min but more often it takes closer to 20 min...
idk... never really timed myself but i think it's around those two numbers:applejackunsure:

4428494
No problem.

Last time I timed myself, it was a little over 5 minutes or more.

4428543
Mmm, I think so.
Or maybe it was 40K... I forget DX

4428620 hmm... i think it's likely that i am a slower reader than you.... but everyone has a speed of their own, right?

I think 20k takes at least 10 minutes if not more for me:applejackunsure:

I think my extremely vivid mind slows me down as i pretty much see what is happening when i read:twilightoops:

You two are extremely lucky to read that fast. I can read books and other stuff quickly, but when it comes to fan fics, I always find myself stopping to mentally argue with a character or even to stop in the middle of a scenario and imagine how it will play out, and then read how it does.

4428644
My mind works faster I suppose, I can see what's going on in a story as I read. Imagine it as a dvd on Fast Forward.

Eh, sometimes its a curse, hehe
