On my progress, or lack thereof. · 6:45am Feb 19th, 2017
Hello!
I know I rarely post any blogs. I had intended to at least occasionally do ones about writing progress, but unfortunately, that only works if you actually are making writing progress. Between my own issues, procrastination, and overtime at work, that hasn't really been happening. the longer it's been since I've written anything, the harder it is, too.
Today, though, I did manage to pick up the last chapter of Cubic Zirconia I was working on, which was at about 2k, go through and do a bunch of revision, and then add about 1k to the end of it, so I'm feeling good about it. It may not sound like much, but when you've been doing no writing at all, it's a big improvement. Where I stopped was a natural scene end, but I don't really think it'd be a good chapter end, and it'd be rather short at 3k, so I've still got a fair ways to go. Hopefully it's not a few more months before I touch it again.
Just as a heads up, once I'm done with it, odds are that I'll end up posting it without either of my normal prereaders, and I suspect that might be the case for a while. It'll probably be a ways off, in any case.
I keep forgetting to update my avatar, too, since I did actually redo it. This is what it looks like at the moment. I remember I wanted to check it over for mistakes, but it doesn't look too bad.
Anyways, hopefully I manage to keep going on it. We'll see how I feel after the 5 hours of overtime I'm scheduled for next week.
Take your time, as long as you haven't forgotten your fans. ^_^

I actually think about Cubic Zirconia way more than I'm writing, unfortunately. Part of me wants to be further ahead in the story than I am, but writing out of order doesn't usually work too well for me.
For that matter, there are scenes that I know mentally happened/happen that I'm not sure will appear in the story. For example, Twist and Silver Spoon over at Twist's making candy...

Good luck!
4428123 I know the feeling, I HATE going out of order. Also, sorry to be this guy, but it's 'than I'm writing'.

That's why the no prereaders thing is going to be a pain. 'then' vs. 'than' is my bane, and I usually catch myself, but not always. Having someone telling me if a character sounds right is always nice, too.
But, well, Elric hasn't been back around for months and can be hard to get in touch with now, and I'm pretty sure Luminary hasn't read my last chapter yet. Fortunately, my grammar's usually pretty good otherwise, and the first half or so of the story got by without prereaders.
The times I have written out of order, I tend to end up not using what I wrote when I get to that point anyways, so, yeah, I'd much rather avoid it.

4428187 Just take your time and re-read things more often. Self editing will come.
Pleased to here some good news.
I've recently gotten back into proofreading for Diamond Cutter authors. I'm in between stories right now and could offer my services if you're interested.

Thanks. My writing can be pretty flaky timewise, so once I actually have something that's actually ready to be looked at, I'll check back with you and see if you're still between stories or not...
