International Asperger's Day · 2:55am Feb 19th, 2017

Hello to all of my friends. Today is a rather special day for me. While the title basically sums it up, I’d like to go into why today is special. Now, I don’t really feel the need to explain what Asperger Syndrome is considering it’s widely known, but if you don’t know, then you can read about it here.

Firstly, I will begin by saying that I don’t have Asperger’s. But I don’t think that fact makes a difference in how much it means to me personally. XD, I think I may be a magnet for all you “Aspies” out there. It’s slightly funny, but all of my bestest friends have Asperger Syndrome. I would write a list, but I’m a little afraid that I might leave someone out accidentally. It is a rather long list.

To those with Asperger’s, I want you all to know this: you are amazing. You are so incredibly amazing! Don’t let anybody tell you that you’re stupid or annoying or anything less than awesome. Because what you have is a gift. You have beautiful eyes, a beautiful mind, and a beautiful heart. You see the world in a light that transcends all else. Your mind is truly advanced beyond even the smartest people out there. And your heart, oh my goodness, your heart. I really don’t know what to say here, other than that your heart is beautiful. I wish I had the eyes, the mind, and the heart of someone with Aspergers because I really do. I just do.

My favorite brother (Lol, I know you’re not supposed to have favorites, but I’m just being honest ya’ll.), whom I will refer to as Rekar, is an Aspie. Growing up, I recognized that Rekar was different; I’ll admit, sometimes I had a tendency to get frustrated with him when he wouldn’t understand something. But regardless of that, I love him, so much. Rekar is an amazing, creative, inspirational, highly-motivated, intelligent, mathematically gifted, wonderful older brother with a knack and dream for music and film-making. Rekar, you inspire me to do what I love most and to follow my dreams, no matter how crazy or impossible they seem. I know you’ll go far in life and overcome all obstacles in your way. I love you. Always.

XD, today makes me feel a little nostalgic and sappy. So don’t mind me as I go cry in a corner. I cried writing this. Asperger's really means so much to me.

Anyway, if you noticed a included a pic of a random draconequus. XD, he’s really not all that random, as you’ll see. His name is Rekar Illusion. As I was working on his character, I came to realize that he reminded me greatly of my brother, partly because of his curly hair and his gift for storytelling, and partly for other reasons. Thusly, Rekar Illusion really has become a special character to me. XD, I just love him (and not just because he’s handsome :twilightblush:) From now on, I’ll try to refer to all of my brothers by names. XD, considering I have three bros, saying “my brother” all the time really doesn’t work at all. So I guess the list for them would be, in order from oldest to youngest would be as follows:

Chef A (I don’t have any better name as of yet) - 27
Rekar Human - my Asperger’s brother - 22
Technic Reverb - my brother with Crohn’s- 20
I’ll just call my sister Dawn (14); lol, she really likes that name and uses it for just about anything.

And I that’s really all I can think of. I’m not sure of what else to say, so I’ll just end it on this.

Bis bald and adios,
~Melly~

A very nice and awesome blog post  Very warming.

dang! a whole day dedicated to me! :rainbowkiss:

I found it really amusing that pretty much every friend in real life that i still have, has aspergers.... like somehow it brought us together without us realizing it... maybe we were just all collectively weird and had to find others so as not to be rejects, i dunno. :twilightsheepish:

I will say this. i kind of wished i didn't have it to be honest. who knows what kind of people i would have met without the social problems, though i am getting better.... i think,.....
