Results Of Contest · 2:52am Feb 15th, 2017
Back in early December of last year, I entered into a writing contest. It was Princep's DiamondBloom Shipping contest (found in The Diamond Cutters group). I got back the results of the contest today.
The story that had won was my 'Love Like A Diamond' one-shot story. Perhaps the results aren't that surprising considering that there weren't that many entrants in the first place, but it never-the-less has me in joy. I don't usually win contests.
I liked every story that was entered into the contest, however, and they each won in my book.
The thing is though, I found it more rewarding that they actually enjoyed my work than the actual prize money that was associated with the contest. It has me beaming for joy that I was able to make them smile.
Sorry I am unable to put this into better words right now. I think I am slightly overwhelmed. I have been all day, really. Regardless, I wanted to tell you guys the good news.
Yay!! That's great news, congratulations! I didn't know you entered it in a contest, but it was so awesome, it's one of those things that you know will win something - even if you don't what that is.
It's a bit like this story (well, not really a story) that I'll tell you that's similar. A few years ago I auditioned for my school's drama program. Ya, I wasn't too good compared to everyone else but I was still fine. It was a musical (duh), Hair Spray I think. Lots of the peeps there were in vocal at school too, so they were good. While they all were good, there was this one that was better than the rest... You didn't need to hear the rest to know she was the best. And she ended up getting the main role, Tracy.
So that story thing was to represent how good your story was - you don't need to see the others to know it's awesome. So congrats, you've earned it writing such a good story.
I don't show my emotions too much in real life, just the same serious frown. But this blog post found me with a huge grin on my face. But nopony is around to see it... Well, anyways, congrats again, you totally deserved it. Good night! Or morning, or afternoon. But y'know what I mean.

Tehe. What really surprised me was the my other entry was rank 2 in the contest. Of course, I can only win one prize. I would have cringed if I had taken two of them.
Congratulations!
Excellent! I'm happy for you! Indeed, the acknowledgment is often sweeter than the physical prize, I find.
Congratulations!
