A big problem I have with "Incomplete" stories. · 1:36am Feb 10th, 2017
Why are stories allowed to be "incomplete" if they haven't received an update in a year? Heck, sometimes I come across "incomplete" stories that haven't been updated in three years - just set that to "On Hiatus" or "Cancelled"!
I sometimes don't look for "Incomplete" stories because of this - I don't want to come across something potentially interesting, only to be let down by the 'most recent' chapter having been uploaded sometime in 2012 (5 years ago). This is also why I never search for "On Hiatus" or "Cancelled" - because then I will inevitably be disappointed.
Right now, "Incomplete" is on an equal level to those tags, when I feel I should be excited about "Incomplete" ('hey, I found a new story I like - and it's "Incomplete", so the author should be updating regularly! Definitely putting that in both 'Favourites' and 'Tracking'!'). As it is, I just feel like a jerk for passing by potentially interesting stories because there's plenty of clearly-dead-but-still-somehow-not-Cancelled-or-On-Hiatus stories cluttering the tag.
If some admins or whatever manage to read this (I'd be honestly surprised, considering I'm not an author and am a relatively-new user, among the thousands like me), could I humbly suggest adding a 'It's been 1 year since last update, so it's automatically changed to 'On Hiatus'; if it's been 2 years or longer, it's automatically changed to 'Cancelled'' system? To reduce clutter and improve visibility of still-updating stories, if nothing else?
