Sadness

So I am writing and working on the latest chapter of The Alter Accords, I am about halfway through it, feeling alright about how its coming out so far. I hit the save button and as I do my comp crashes. Its just a crash I didn't think anything of it. I got to open up my chapter and its corrupted. Attempted to recover it but to no avail.

So a moment of silence for the incomplete chapter that I will now have to start over from scratch.

ah... are you sure it's unrecoverable? what were you doing your writing on?

I'm asking because on some computers / programs, in the case of a catastrophic failure, you can go into the coding to find the keystrokes. i will probably be very painful if you can, but it would work.

I use Microsoft word. Usually when things shut down early or something happens to it I get a prompt that lets me ask to use the last saved one it remembers. However I never got that when I launched it back up even on a blank page it didnt give me the option.

I believe it was because it was in the middle of saving when my comp crashed that if f-ed it over.
