Finally Watching The Season 6 Finale · 12:46am Feb 1st, 2017
It be all Suicide Squad up in this business.
Actually pretty enjoyable so far as well, despite Starlight being the focus. I can almost forget how much I dislike her character and how it's been handled. Trixie's snark may be part of that, though.
Will edit with more thoughts after part 2.
EDIT: Saw part 2. It was pretty good. I liked the hive, I liked the banter, I liked how the anti-magic field forced them to exercise creativity in getting past various obstacles. I liked everything, right up until Thorax turned into a radioactive moose.
Ah, of course they couldn't leave out the latest "It's the last five minutes of the season finale so we have to introduce something new and stupid to simultaneously sell toys and further degrade the integrity of the setting" feature. This has been going on since Season 3, so why stop now?
At least Chrysalis said no.
Idunno. The changelings' sudden metamorphosis into bad OCs, and my lingering inability to really believe in Starlight's reformation brought down the episode for me, but it was actually pretty enjoyable for the most part. I'll be watching the other episodes I missed sooner or later as well, and hopefully getting back into Pony. Season 7 and the movie still have the chance to not suck, right?
I really am the no-fun police, aren't I?
Pretty much agree completely. Tempting to hate the episode just for the last 15 minutes, but Derpy at the beginning was lovely, villain team-up was an interesting idea (even if Thorax was among them, who's a wet blanket of a character), and the cave of Fluttershies was amazing.

That was definitely memorable.
4405298 My other complaint would be how one-dimensional they made Chrysalis.
The one really good character moment she got was, as you said, when she said no (I may have watched that gif of yours from two blog posts ago for far too long).
