Ok, first off, I just woke up from a nightmare about this, so how logical this would be is questionable. Also, it wasn't even a horcrux in the dream.
Basically, "Evil Guy" had some ability where if he touches a person, he can't die unless the touched one is killed first. He is also a person in a job that apparently involves a lot of handshaking, so dream Me needed to go around all over the place evading him while madly assassinating random peeps before he could catch up/get more targets.
So, uh, make Harry Potter even more conflicted about Horcrux stabbing by sticking them in random civilians. Or even better, people with high publicity, like celebrities.
Yay.
