me checking the dislike ratio on my new story

Glad to know bigotry is still alive and well in this fandom.

It's glad to see some of us didn't watch the same series as I did.

    So where I've been

Okay, uh... how do I begin this? Well, I suppose I should start with the obvious. Yes, I've been distracted. If you follow me on Archive that should be obvious. And if you don't, you totally should btw. Yes, I'm shameless.

Bit worried right now... · 6:35pm Jan 22nd, 2017

Okay, so as most of you know, I'm a very neurotic person, meaning I can get worried about the tiniest things. Of course, today I actually do have reason to be worried. A rather nasty storm front's moving into my area today, tornado watches have been issued, with the weather forecasters even calling for a PDS (Particularly Dangerous Situtation), which are only used for the more nasty types of storms, lemme give you an idea of what that type of storm can produce.

Yeah, that. The worst part is, this'll last till about eight-o-clock, and I'm smack dab in the middle of the area where the watches have been issued. Now I ask you, what do you do to keep yourself calm knowing any minute, a storm could drop a tornado right down on your head? S-Seriously guys, I don't like to admit this, but I'm terrified, knowing I have 7 hours and 30 minutes of this to bear and knowing that at any time, a tornado could drop. Any advice to keep myself calm or just something to pep me up?

Hard to say for me, Europe ain't subject to that many tornadoes. We're more acquainted to quakes and floods and even that's a rare occurrence where I lived.

The only advice I can give you is make sure you're prepare to evacuate to a safe place without cumbrances, have with you enough bottles of water some food, flash lights, batteries and a portable radio.

I think if you're enough prepared you'll know everything is going to be fine even if the worse comes.

Stock up on food, water, flashlights, I'm sure you will be ok but it never hurts to be prepared.

Believe me, we're stocked up on pretty much everything (We have flashlights and candles in every bedroom just in case the power goes out, as it does have a tendency to do so at the most annoying times in our neighborhood. Always a snake getting into something. I kid you not. Most annoying time was when it was 1:30 in the morning and everyone was trying to sleep.) But so far (Hopefully not jinking myself here), everything looks normal for Floridian weather. Actually, me and my family are even planning to meet my sister and her daughter if the weather stays nice.

I listen to some bright hearted music... Something like this:

I also pray, and I know that if something does happen, that the Lord won't take me out unless He plans to, which, He pretty much doesn't do. But, I know you don't believe in God, so, I'll leave you be on that front.

Storms, especially loud ones always do frighten me, but, I've always gotten through it, so I wouldn't worry unless something does actually happen.

4392604 Actually, I will correct you on that point. I do believe in God. And listening to music (Ironically, I'm listening to Texas Flood right now. Giggle at the Ghosties, after all.) or doing something else, like writing to keep your mind off the weather generally helps.

I don't know if you've researched this, but that would be my first suggestion do some research and find out the best way to handle this situation and be prepared, after that just try not to worry or think about it, try to reason with yourself that there's nothing you can do if a storm does come, and there's nothing you can do if it doesn't, so worrying about it won't benefit anyone least of all yourself. So if a storm does come trust that you and your family know how to best deal with the situation. Tell yourself that your in control of the situation and your prepared for what comes next.

try to reason with yourself that there's nothing you can do if a storm does come, and there's nothing you can do if it doesn't, so worrying about it won't benefit anyone least of all yourself

just so you don't misunderstand what I mean here, I'm not telling you to think of the situation as hopeless, just trying to get you to realize that it's no use worrying about something that's not in your control (I'm referring to whether the storm will come or not), staying calm is the best remedy

That's what I try to do when I find myself in a troubling situation, I try to calm down and think about things rationally and take the best course of action. I hope this helped a little. :)

4392645 Thanks for my advice. Nothing I can really do about it, so just let things go the way God intends. Although knowing me and my family's luck, the storms may just pass us by. We seem to have some sort of bubble over our house, and for the past year not one single terrible storm has hit us. Same thing with our previous home as well. Odd that.

4392650 I knew I forgot to mention something, you can always pray about it as well. :)

Focus on what could go right, not what might go wrong. I know when I **** something up, or I'm super nervous, it's because I'm focusing too much on what I might do wrong, or what might go wrong, and not focusing enough on things that can go right. That mistake is why I'm single, part of why I'm depressed, and also partially why I have the kinds of confidence issues that I have. Just be positive, and the world will cooperate, at least a little bit.

4392727 Considering the watch is ten minutes from ending, (Here's hoping it doesn't get extended) I'm not as worried as I was hours ago.

4392612 Fair enough then mate.

While not about an actually storm, this song also fits. Ish. Hope nothing bad happens to your area. Or any area for that matter.
