    Stories I Almost Wrote, #8

And here's the second one I haven't touched in years. Rest in peace, Love Biting.

    Notes/discarded scenes!

    Stories I Almost Wrote, #7

It's been over three years since I even thought about updating this, so I might as well bury it. Rest in peace, Royally Ruffled Feathers.

First, the notes. They're as jumbled and out of order as usual, but I tried to tidy up at least a little bit.

    Bubble, Bubble...

Hello again! Remember the span of months in which Sucker For A Cute Face inadvertently produced spin-off clopfics and one bonus chapter? Well, now there's a side story set about three months after the main one, which you can read Here!

Stories I'll (Probably) Never Write, #8!

Been a while since one of these, huh? Over a year since the last plot bunny dump, two years since the last of the type detailing a story I never really tried to write in earnest. I'm not sure why I'm keeping track of that.

General I'm-not-dead-yet blog post · 2:41am Jan 12th, 2017

I haven't published a lot lately, and with a few extra thoughts and summaries of what I've been doing, here's why.

The next SFaCF chapter is my main focus, and I spent about a week straight just going through the whole thing again. The next chapter is around 3,000 words so far and maybe halfway done because there's a lot to fit in that I want to get juuust right. Sometimes I still remember when it was a simple story centered on short, candy-based-teasing chapters around 2-3k words long each, and laugh.

Regrettably, I've had my attention divided all over the place writing-wise (to say nothing of everything-else-wise), working on the next installment of the Dazzle and Fluff series, which, as per admittedly arbitrary tradition, I'd like to wait until I have the full story completely ready before I start publishing. I think I'm maybe a third of the way done with that one.

Plus a whole bunch of other crud (whole new things I haven't started publishing even with a chapter or two finished, for various reasons) I've been making progress with a few sentences at a time, including things that haven't had an update in a year or more. I think working on other stuff for a while helps clear my head a bit, because focusing strictly on two or three things, let along just one, starts to get tiring after a while. The next We Three: With You In Spirit is long overdue, and it (probably) wouldn't take that long to get to the next choice, so I'd like to get that done.

Now for the biggun'; The Shadowbolts have a collective tag! There are a whole bunch of lovely new tags, actually, which is delightful all by itself, but a big reason I've held off writing about those five was that I could tell myself "Yea, but it can wait until they have a tag," which I'm too excited to determine whether or not that's actually a good reason to hold off right now! So yes, I could start on that Sirens of CHS sequel (thinking of calling it Cross Reference) or a completely unrelated story taking place in/near Crystal Prep any time!

Although, I should really finish another story or two before I go doing that. But still! :raritystarry:

TL;DR: I'm not dead and/or dying, not getting bored with Pony, I just haven't been getting things to a point where I can readily publish them as often as I'm pretty sure I used to. Could swear I used to publish 3-4 chapters of stuff a month. Sorry about that, but the horsewords are a-flowin'! :pinkiehappy:

Here's a picture of everyone looking all chibi-doll.

I just wanna squeeze their little bellies. :rainbowkiss:

I've always thought those dolls were creepy enough, then they got the Absolutely Brilliant Idea to animate them...

Happy to know you still exist. Now if only you could squeeze more Trixie into your writing schedule. Flutterdagio is amazing, buuut, Trixie For Life! :pinkiecrazy:

Good luck, take your time, and I look forward to seeing how your stories continue.

These are animated?

...Where? :trixieshiftright:

I've come to believe that Trixie is FANTASTIC for comedy, but she just doesn't get the kind of presence some other characters do in my work. I've had ideas for her, but the stories in which she was due to take leading roles were canceled/abandoned before they started for one reason or another. Still, I like to think she's fun when she does make appearances.
And some day, I may justify using something like this as cover art...

4379683 Too creepy, blocked all memory beyond the fact the maniacs did it:pinkiesick:

4379683 I'm going to agree with you about Trixie. I've never been a big fan of her myself {mostly because she was pushed a bit... too much into the spotlight, especially in the early days.} but she is an enjoyable character. She's kind of like Prussia from hetalia.

An awesome character and hilarious, but used sparingly so they don't overstay their welcome. The thing is with them is that they need someone else to balance out their over the top personalities. They can't carry a story themselves because it would get tiring after a while. They are jerks with a heart of gold, willing to help friends while simultaneously causing headaches. Which is why I do really enjoy how you {and Rainbow Rocks} used Trixie. That and season six, so yeah.

4379683 Yeah, I have to agree, you mostly use her for comic relief, or at least, for comedic purposes. I do like the few scenes she was in in your stories, but she is never more than a background character more or less. Shame though, I really like the story that picture would probably tell. Maybe when I ever get out of this hole of sequel's I'll give it a shot of my own, if I can do a decent Adagio, at least.

Glad to hear you are working on Dazzle and Fluff series. You've already had Aria sing a ridiculous song for Adagio's birthday, any chance Sonata will actually sing It's Raining Tacos at some point?

4379683 I think your Stallionverse Trixie is the funniest Trixie I've ever seen, and that is a very high bar. The one where she's roommates with Fluttershy is a pretty close second though.

I really don't see much with tacos coming up in my work, sorry. I was sick of the joke a few months after Rainbow Rocks, and time has not sweetened it. :pinkiesick:
Still, you can certainly imagine Sonata throwing a bar mitzvah in which everyone wears sombreros (she's bad at research, but she really tries her best, so the others usually just don't say anything when she mixes things up) and sings that song, if you like.

And yes, Trixie in love calls for some crazy, over-the-top performance even for her, which I'm pretty sure gets annoying for some people, so I'm glad you've enjoyed that depiction. :pinkiehappy:

I love how everydoll there is smiling except Aria. :rainbowlaugh:

And for some reason there are two Sunsets...

4381366
The grumpiness is part of what makes her cute. :rainbowkiss:

And, I guess they couldn't decide which outfit to include Sunset in.
