Regarding EqD and Audio Readings · 6:53pm Jan 4th, 2017
If any of you follow EqD as closely as I do (that is: barely, if at all), then this blog may be of some import to you.
Equestria Daily has updated its audio reading guidelines (linked here)!
Among the major rule changes that are significant to us are:
Stories do not have to be featured on EqD prior to submission.
The minimum length limit has been reduced from half an hour to 10 minutes.
Pictures in the video must be either be the cover arts themselves of the stories themselves or pictures of principal characters involved (I guess I won't be using stock images anymore if I wanna get featured. Thing is, I often can't get permission for them. Maybe I should mention that. 
)
All readings are required to be available on YouTube.
I guess it would have behooved me to look deeper to see if they were updated before I submitted my reading yesterday. Among my violations would be that I didn't state that CreepyPastaSalad (me) actually audio read it in my video. I kinda felt that was a given. 
Also, my video, while it contains art directly pertinent to the story, there really wasn't any cover art, since it was from Ponyfictionarchive.net. Basically, I sent them a submission email of the same type as I had sent for the past two readings I've done. Hopefully, they didn't say "Adding it" but suffer second thoughts or apprehensions since my video is technically noncompliant with the new rules. 
I'm wondering if my complaint a couple months ago helped to create these changes. Likely, it had more to do with the stagnation of submissions mentioned in the article than with my single complaint, but who knows?
