    July 1st 2020 - Update

Well, well, well. Here I am! Sorry about the gap in blog posts (again). Been on more of a mental self-care. What with the world basically crumbling around us day by day. So you know, that's been what is keeping me so busy. That and trying to find a job, too. The good news is... my mental health has finally stabilized (for now). Found out what was causing my issues which was just one big well of

The True Nightmare ~ Replication - Repost

As promised I have set Replication for a repost. Auto-approval this time so it doesn't take all day. But regardless, I know I haven't made it much further than the previous chapter length, but, oddly enough, reposting it again has... oddly peaked a small little fire once more. Honestly I feel like I could return to this story very soon. And that's not just to sound like I'm puffing air out my

The Long Awaited Update + Info on the Current Situation

So! Just as I was feeling up to put up a blog, it seems like the world decided to lose its collective shit at the last possible moment. But as for how I'm doing? This'll be a short blog but I'll get the writing stuff out of the way before the important stuff.

FIMFiction Review #6 · 11:56pm Jan 1st, 2017

Hello there again, folks! Sorry about the delay on this one. I forgot about it for a while and then found it again and began working on it today. So I hope you'll all enjoy this one because I sure enjoyed writing it. :rainbowlaugh: Without further interruptions I present to you the story of the hour!

Description

My name is Kyle Stevenson, and I cosplayed as Deadpool for a convention. Little did I know that not only would I find myself in the magical world of Equestria, but I would gain the powers of Deadpool himse—

“Wow would you get a loo-- wait a minute. This ain’t that Kyle I fought before.”

Oh I thought this would’ve happened. Well, ladies and gentlemen. Let’s roll the red carpet for the Merc with the Mouth, Deadpool.

“Well aren’t you the nice guy. Glad that I don’t have to shoot yah like everybody else.”

Everybody else?

“Yeah. Like the time I killed the entire Marvel universe. That was a proud day for me indeed.”

“Too bad there wasn’t anybody we could talk to. Kind of got lonely after a while.”

“We kind’ve went shit crazy too. But killing everybody was pretty fun. We’d probably do it again wouldn’t we?”

“You’re damn right we would.”

Well… if you’re alright with taking a back seat for a moment I’ll start the next segment.

Concept

The concept of this story was just an absolute enjoyment. It’s basically a satire of all the known Displaced stories out there.

“We have to admit. There are some things we’ve read after invading this site, thanks to Flint Sparks. Wasn’t that great to be honest.”

“I know. All these wannabe posers that think they’re hot shit. Like that Kyle guy. Becomes a fucking God and then we killed his ass. Pretty fun moment. Even if it was child’s play compared to our fight with Galactus.”

Right… anywh--

“Did you know that you bronies are fucked up sometimes?”

Hey don’t blame me for that shit. Those other works? Those people wouldn’t know writing if it bit them in the--

“Woah. Language, man. You know that show is for kids, right? What if some of them are reading this review right now?”

...You know those sometimes uncreative works that just have someone thrown into a story for some Deus Ex Machina reason? That’s one thing I completely enjoyed about it. Not only is the author making fun of them but he has Deadpool on the same boat. And Pinkie Pie as well. This is what made the story so fun. And it was just a funny concept in general.

“Did somepony call my name!?”

Oh great. Now she’s here.

“Is that Deadpool? Hi, Deadpool!”

“Yo, Pinks! Thanks for that birthday bash. Even though we were kind of in the middle of the battle. Serves those idiots right over at Screwattack for putting me in another one of their stupid match ups.”

“Yeah! Those guys are always so serious about their battles.”

I have to deal with two of them!?

“To be fair, you did call us here by writing our names.”

“He’s got a point. You’re stuck with us pal.”

...Alright. Moving on!

Plot

The plot was… oh how do I even begin. The plot was all over the place but you know? I won’t mark it down for any of that. To start off we find Deadpool dead and talking to Death before being brought back into the Everfree Forest after somehow getting his behind handed to him by the Deadpool faker.

“Hey! That asshole caught me by surprise, alright? Besides it wasn't for Flint Spark’s stupid story line anyway. Would’ve killed him if I had my Carbonadium Sword but noooo! I had to play it by the book!”

“I wish stories weren’t told that way. Be more fun if we killed him with an intense description of gore and got to bang our number one fan!”

...Okay! Pinkie Pie somehow happens upon him for some plot convenience and directs him to the first cosplayer he kills. Of course it has to be a Spiderfaker.

“That guy was a real meanie. Acting like the power he had was his great responsibility.”

“Thank you Pinkie. Finally somebody gets it! No wonder Flint had me rough him up like one of those Broadway musicals. You know these jokes are terrible right? You're not that funny, Feather Note.”

Don't blame me. I'm just not that funny of a guy. Now then. He then meets Discord as more and more voices suddenly break the fourth wall.

… I said “more voices suddenly break the fourth wall.”

“The hell did you quote yourself for?”

Because I said his name so he’s probably going to show up.

...Where is he? I know he’s coming sooner or later.

“Hello! I heard somepony call my name?”

And here we go. We got the God of Chaos everybody. Discord himself.

“Why thank you, my good sir. It’s a privilege partaking in this story again. Oh what a great amount of fun it was in causing some chaos beyond our childish realm."

Yeah… what a wonderful moment. We then get a Rainbow Dash Wolverine cross who has been mind controlled. Breaking into Rarity’s boutique and kidnapping Rarity and Pinkie Pie.

“Ahh… what a fun time that was.”

“Getting kidnapped by your own friend is considered fun to you?”

“Well, yeah! The whole MLP universe is too frilly sometimes. All I do is bake goods for Mr. and Mrs. Cake. Plus being the Bearer for the Element of Laughter is not that cracked up. Ponies seem to forget you saved their world over a billion times.”

Of course pissed off, Discord gives him a mini gun and the two get transported to a Crystal Cave with hundreds of cosplayers and the main one just sitting back and watching this all take place. Discord deals with the Rainbow Dash Wolverine while Deadpool rescues the girls.

“Yep! You just leave the saving of women to me. The girls always enjoy a little bit of Deadpool.”

Really?

“Unfortunately for Deadpool, those girls don’t always reciprocate that same kindness.”

“That, Discord, is because they just don’t know the fire that burns between my loins.”

… Okay! Moving on!

Of course the main badguy gets the powers of a god, somehow, and then of course, the Deus Ex Machina ending comes into play as Deadpool somehow takes over the Deadpool faker and kills him with his own sword. Thus the ending comes and we find Deadpool back in his own universe. And Pinkie Pie underneath him.

“Oh right. I made out with Pinkie Pie. A pony. That was certainly a new experience.”

“You know you loved it, baby.”

No. No. No. And no.

Okay… this plot, even with all these holes in it, was just awesome. Why? Because it was supposed to be like that. If you didn’t get already that this was a parody of a Displaced Character story then you must not be very bright.

“Are you insulting your readers?”

If someone isn’t that bright, it isn’t my fault.

“But you could be a little less provocative, you know? Not everypony appreciates someone that acts like they’re high and mighty.”

Really. I love the irony in your words, Discord.

“You know that I try my best.”

Yeah. I can see that.

Setting

Not much to talk about here with the setting. It’s pretty much Deadpool transported to Equestria through means that even would confuse the author. I’m pretty sure it was still good though since it’s just good old Ponyville and some random crystal chamber.

“Settings are never fun. We’ve always gone straight for the action.”

“You know it. That action being both killing and scoring with the babes.”

...You know what. I’ve got nothing for this one. Let’s just move on.

Characters

If there was yet another part of the story that Flint Sparks did well with, was the characters in said story. Rarity was in this story and while she didn’t get much screen time she was still well represented.

Deadpool who was one of the highlights for his moves, killing all those posers and… for banging a pony in the en-- okay! What is this!?

“Saw what you had in mind and decided to do a few rewrites. Like the story you never finished revising.”

Oh hah, hah, hah. While Deadpool was at his finest we did get to see him open up to somebody other than a human. While there aren’t always human like beings in the Marvel universe, it was just fun to see the hijinks between him and those he interacted with.

Speaking of hijinks…

"Oooh! Oooh, ooh, pick me! Pick me!”

Okay, okay! Sheesh. Once is enough. Ahem.

“Don’t choke on your own ego.”

...Anywho. Pinkie Pie was also wonderful in this story. Her bubbly personality fit well with Deadpool’s violent and yet funny nature.

“There’s more than one way we fit well. And I think you know which way that is, right Deadpool?”

“Yeah! How can I not? Banging a pony is more fun then one realizes.”

I don’t need the image in my head. Please let me just move onto Discord.

“The one and only God of Chaos deserves his recognition.”

Well to start off, Discord’s appearance was a nice treat. The way he interacted with Deadpool reminded me of a more funny and helpful version of Cable.

“That’s actually a decent point.”

“Yeah! He doesn’t know when to shut up. If the future is so important why doesn’t he go and do something about it?”

He’s very limited to what he can do, alright? Don’t give him too much crap.

“Yeah. We’re more civilized than monkeys and apes.”

“Aren’t humans technically apes?”

“You know what I mean!”

“Humans are quite gross, to be honest. At least the ponies have great manners.”

Are we really going to discuss this conversation while the review is going on?

“It is an interesting conversation. Besides, at least we have the decency to let women say no and not screw around with them by turning their world into one gigantic funhouse and chase them around a throne dressed like a clown."

“You know full well that was a different universe! I’d never stoop that low… I mean, I did think about it once but it was only for a brief moment.”

“I wonder if you’re ever going to seal the deal with Princess Celestia?”

“What!? Who gave you that kind of inkling of a thought that I admire that mare?”

“...Where is this conversation going? I thought we were making fun of Discord?”

“Yeah… hey, Feather Note. Maybe we should continue the review and avoid… whatever that conversation is.”

“I’d rather not think about two one thousand year old beings getting it on.”

“How dare you!? She may be a thousand years old but she still looks like she could model for your stupid Dazzler articles!”

Yeah… this conversation needs die. Let’s finish this up before I lose what sanity I have left.

Final Review & Score

Now. To summarize. Here’s what I enjoyed. The story is a parody of the whole “displaced” theme, where said characters get inserted into their favorite worlds. In this particular place, seeing one get his just deserves was an amazing time. The comedy was amazing. The characters were on point. Deadpool was funny as always. A real great treat if you want to just have some fun in reading and a laugh or two.

“Aw! That’s so sweet of you!”

Well of course. It was a fun story. I can’t say no to fun. Especially if it makes fun of a theme I don’t like too much.

“Doesn’t that mean you’re making fun of any reader you have that likes those types of stories?”

Yeah… but they probably don’t care. Anyway, I’ve saved the score for last. While I’m starting to like numbers less and less, I feel they still hold some importance, sometimes. But don’t always believe in numbers my friends, a description will get you farther than numbers. If I were to give it a number out of ten… I’d say that Flint Spark’s story is a 7.8/10. If there was anything that put it above SpitFlame’s Elements of Honor, I’d say that Flint Spark’s story had plot holes on purpose where SpitFlame’s mistakes did leave me baffled. (And still a little annoyed).

However, that is all I have to say.

“So are we done here? I know we’re not getting paid anything but you could still pay us something.”

Like what?

“I know how you can get paid Deadpool. What about another round? At my place, my room this time.”

“Aren’t your bosses going to hear us?”

“Only if they’re not at SugarCube Corner.”

“Well you’re a frisky pony. Sure! I’m game again to wreck that booty!”

Oh god where’s the stop button.

“Allow me my good sir.”

How are you going to--

Well I hope you guys enjoyed my insane wackiness of this review. (I tried my best to be funny. Knowing my own self I'm not that great at being funny). I thought that, since I’d be reviewing something involving Deadpool, Pinkie, and Discord, three beings who can break the fourth wall, I thought it would have been nice to have some insane meta here. Hope you all liked it! See you all soon!
