Hi all!
For those who follow my daily silliness (Equestrian Fanfiction) I have a big question for you to decide. I've done a test coloured version of chapter one. Do you think it's better, or is no formatting more legible? (I'm on tablet, so the girmatting takes a little time :( )
In addition, if anyone knows a way to have the quote box change colour, let me know! (I think that version would me most readable).
Thank you again, and enjoy the start of 2017!
Lise
You end up using two different color for RRBB. I don't know if you meant to use the first, but I'd recommend sticking with the second. That orange is kind of bright.
Aside from that, the color choices seem to work quite well, though I'm not having any trouble as is. It's much like any other forum. I suppose you could post the usernames first instead of last as an alternative to the colors if that doesn't work out.
I took a look, and the color choices work fine with the medium-dark background I normally read on.
As for the quote box color, I know own of no way to change it. I imagine the coding involved would need to be server-side, and that means making sure it doesn't conflict with the numerous browsers out there, or conflict with the site's own coding.
I usually read fanfics on my Kindle. Colored text doesn't translate to e-ink and including it is invariably somewhere between invisible and a pain from my perspective.
I like the coloured version - easier to tell who's who.
I agree.
It looks very good and makes it a bit easier to read.
And no, as far as I know it's not possible to re-colour the quote box.
But maybe the is a way I just never heard of...
4363238 If it entirely unreadable? Still wondering what the best way of this is.
It'll probably take me an hour to add colour. Can anyone think of an alternative solution? I'm even considering commissioning voice talent to make this into an audio book, but that's when I get to chapter 30 at least.
4365003 Nah, it usually just means I don't even notice it. Or that it's a slight pain if the color indicators are important for some reason
4365126 If you're fine, I'll start using colours. (Until I run out and start repeating.)
